New Interest Stack
Interest StacksList of Original Anime Series' (not including sequels/specials/movies) Pretty self-explainatory. Anime where some main character is required to warp in time or space. SPOILER ALERT: Some of them have time or space warp revealed later on in the plot. Continue at your own risk. These are magical girl (mahou-shoujo) series where the main plot involves the main characters ending up in an alternate universe, whether accidentally or on purpose. Thrown together for personal reference; does not include shows that I cannot vet the content of due to having no experience watching, and the quality of shows listed is irrelevant. Would the world have been a better place if religion doesn't exist? What right does religion have to decide what's good and bad? Are they really the guide to life? Explicitly Cannon Couples and Hard Subtext Shows. Subtext shows listed here have substantial content and not just a little bit of teasing here and there. Subtext can also be an unspoken focal point of the series. These are shows I can actually recommend and like enough to suggest checking out. Deception can be scary. Is the world you live in really what you perceive? Do you believe in what you see or see what you believe? What is the truth and what is the lie? Is anyone benefiting from the lies and who is struggling from the truth? If everyone believes in a lie, does the lie become the truth? What happens if what you think is wrong has been the right one all along? Will you switch sides, or will you stay? 1. Cast is all-girl This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). Another follow-up to the magical realism list. This is some of my favorite anime that tell coming-of-age stories, but this time in settings that are totally fantastical in every way, far removed from our real world. Be it action spectacles or down-to-earth shows in fantasy settings, these are some of my favorites about growing up in a world totally full of wonderful fantasy. As always, I will be using the first season to be representative of the entire series. This list includes arthouse (gonna strech this term in this list) that are have multiple episodes that from one story, so compilations like Neo Tokyo or Genius Party will not be in here. |
