Short happy anime series about female idols. Although they're not really that heavy on the idol theme.

Cute, badly animated, moe moe anime-chans doing potentially-can-be-interpreted-as-cute things.

They're both shorts with a similarly upbeat (and mentally draining) atmosphere. If you liked Forest Fairy Five, you will be sure to love Crane Game Girls, though I'm not sure it'll work the other way round.

Both are quality shows if you are a fan of irony.

- 3 high school girls: the normie one, the natural boke one, the mothering and grown-up one.
- Semi-informative: food 'tips' vs. crane game 'tips'.

Crane Game girls has a more absurd plot and premise, whereas JK Meshi is very much slice-of-life.
