Nobunaga no Shinobi

Both features a female ninja MC. They are quite different in genre and theme, however. Nobunaga no Shinobi is some history represented via comedy, while the other is set in a fictional world. 

Both series are shorts that cover historical events in Japan with a cutesy and fun style that makes the dense information easy to digest. Neko Neko Nihonshi is a bit less violent than Nobunaga no Shinobi, but it still has all the entertainment. Plus, there's cats! 

Short anime with adorable characters. They are a good choice if you are looking for a show to watch in one sitting. They have a combination of badass characters and foolish characters resulting in some hilarious situations. 

Both series revolve around Oda Nobunaga and the battles in the late Sengoku period.
