Telemonster

I've been watching this since it was nothing more than proof of concept 30 second demos and a music video on YouTube years ago.
I'm not going to mince words here: I hate it. I watch it almost because I like to hurt myself.
I can't think of any show other than this that actually goes out of its way to make you outright hate every single character.
Have you seen Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul? Well.... Imagine a show where every single character is Skylar, Marie and Chuck. Just so obnoxious, self-centered, spiteful.

Children's shows should be pro-social and teach children how to ... treat people, especially friends, with respect and honor. In this, we have four characters living under one roof that are supposedly friends, but that is never demonstrated; rather, they loathe each other and sabotage each other every single episode. Characters have murdered each other, destroyed romantic interests for each other even when it had no benefits for them to do so, just because they can, they have no sportsmanship and cheat each other out of games, they have forced awkward sexual situations on each other and performed dental torture on one another (this is a show for 3 year olds).

And keep in mind this is all done completely without art. There is no art to the hatred displayed by these characters, this isn't an American Psycho kind of deal, it's not even Looney Toons, it's just exploits with no comedy or point to it. They just straight faced destroy each other's lives with no end goal in a very dry manner and it's excruciating to witness. I've never laughed at this show before, it's completely grim.

Visually, I think it's the best 3D show there is. The models are absolutely excellent and have millions of individual hairs. There is a very clear unique style here that I think looks really nice. The designs are very memorable and excellent.

Sound-wise, I would have given it a 10. It has its own original orchestrated soundtrack and they have commissioned very famous k-pop artists such as Born To Beat to do the outros, great sound effects, great voice actors.... But the voice actors become a problem. Their voice talent is unmatched and have a lot of range and they are very enthusiastic to play these characters, as horrible as they are... but really they're just screaming in your fucking ears non-stop and it can be very off-putting. This would be the kind of show parents would definitely scream at their kids to turn off because the voices can be unbearable sometimes.

Anyway, I think these characters have really good potential. All they need is some writers that aren't sadistic monsters who want to project their evilness onto children's cartoon characters.
