These are some pretty good psychological anime series and movies.. Some are new and some are a little older. Enjoy!

My favorite shit anime that I've come to semi-unironically love. It's all trash.

A collection themed around the spookiest time of year, but it's always Halloween in my soul...

While most of this list falls under the horror/suspense/mystery genres, there are a few included based on their heavy themes of zombies/ghosts/vampires, etc.

This list ranges from incredibly good to laughably bad, so I've ordered it by score so you have a better idea of what you're in for. Sequels are not included.

Mystery in an isolated place with a limited number of characters.

Anime in the genre of horror or paranormal that are set in the Japanese province and rural region. Such shows often have a characteristic "Shinto" paranormal atmosphere and a rich collection of Japanese horror tropes, so I thought this stack would be quite interesting for people who like authentic Japanese horror or paranormal anime.

When creating a stack, the following criteria were used:

* Provincial or directly rural setting.
* Characteristic Japanese paranormal or horror elements.
* Melancholy, philosophical and thoughtful storytelling style
* "Esoteric" music.
* As a more urbanized alternative, Japanese macabre humor and play on urban legends.
* Strong use of Shinto elements and mentality
* Vibrant visual style of anime in general.

Anime in which characters have delusional personas, or believe they are a fictional character. Others may think they are out of touch with reality.

Chūnibyō (中二病) is a Japanese colloquial term typically used to describe early teens who have grandiose delusions, who desperately want to stand out, and who have convinced themselves that they have hidden knowledge or secret powers. It translates to "second year syndrome" (i.e., middle-school second-year), and has been called "eighth-grader syndrome" in English-speaking countries. [Wikipedia]

An assorted stack of anime series with some talented detectives and mind-boggling mysteries to uncover. Highly recommended for fans who love to put on a thinking cap and wrap their head around, trying to unravel secrets alongside the protagonists.

Basically anime about characters who are trapped in some situation. Pretty sure that there are many more anime out there that I could have added, but hey, not everyone gets to watch everything lol.

shows that aren't parodies yet still can't really exist in the realm of being taken seriously due to whatever tonal/plot elements that make you go "fkng what???? lmao"

usually this makes them either really funny or really good. or both. or sometimes neither. always confused to some extent tho.

List of anime that are so bad that they're actually worth watching. A lot of these shows have bad plot and animation but are comedic enough to be enjoyed by the general population of MAL.
