Listing all Netflix originals was far easier as some of them are ONAs, as well as the platform itself tells you what are their licenses with their logo on the series cover. However, no Pokemon Journeys or the CGI Mewtwo movie, as they aren't exclusive to them even if marked as if they were. My intent in creating this list is to have a place where you can see the content of the streaming platforms (Just Amazon and Netflix because other platforms have a plethora of content) and because the 'Licensors' profile in MAL doesn't include all shows mentioned. If I miss something that isn't in any of the 'Interest Stacks' please let me know!

When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them.

There are no tags for 3D and CGI which is why this list exists. Clicking the "list view" button will provide the names of sequels if the anime has any.

In the dawn of the digital age, many creators have expressed their hopes and fears about technology and its influence on human society through science fiction anime, creating many interesting interepretations of what our future could be (or even what our present is) with regards to the ever accelerating integration of technology into our lives.

Some of these anime may explore technological revolution in a military or political context, some others in intimate personal dramas. Some are hard, realistic, grounded sci-fi with a lo of genuine scientific backing and others are bordering in fantasy. Some of these are true cyberpunk, and others are entirely opposed to it. Some of these works are pessimistic and fearful about tecnhology, whereas others present hopeful and idealistic possibilities, and some others simply present a grey future with as many advantages as disadvantages. But the main connecting aspect here is the exploration of sci-fi as a fundamental theme and the exploration of te philosophical, sociopolitical and/or psychological consequences of technology whether directly or indirectly, seriously or lightheartedly.

Common tropes & themes: artificial intelligence & meaning of being human, technological implants/bodily enhancements, virtual/augmented reality, social media & deep internet, space travel & space war, extreme capitalism and urbanism in the digital age, personal relationships between humans and androids, discrimination and opression between humans and androids, psychological/physical deterioration due to use of experimental technology

Notes:
- For Blame! read the manga instead
- For The Animatrix, watch The Matrix movies first
- For Blade Runner: Black Out 2022, watch the Blade Runner movies first

This is a list of anime with super high-quality English dubs.
Some of these dubs are even better than their native Japanese counterparts due to their focus on accents and the emotional delivery of lines.
Context is also essential as many of these animes you'll be seeing on this list don't exclusively take place in Japan, so the mannerisms and speech will make more sense in English.
An excellent example of that is Baccano and Black Lagoon.

These animes are the exception to the rule of "English Dub = Bad."
Some of them are also arguably better, but that's a debate for another forum ;)

Reasoning can be found below in the anime boxes.

Hello, and please note that the animes mentioned on this list are all philosophically driven. They may cause uneasiness while watching them because they make us introspect on our ideas of how life is/should be accompanied by complex abstract questions that often don't have answers.

On a positive note, these animes will introduce you to new and unique perspectives as you'll be shown the philosophies of others and learn how they perceive the world. Due to this, you may inherit some of their thought processes and learn to empathize with their reasoning, which further develops your own theories and understanding of the world, human nature and the purpose of our existence, assuming there is one.

On a negative note, many of these animes will take philosophical concepts and blow them out of proportion to force the message or make it obvious.
Consequently, many of the animes on this list will also be uncomfortable to watch, and I will add warnings in their summaries. So, if you're a sensitive individual, please prepare yourself mentally before watching any of these animes, as some thick skin may be required at times.
Viewer discretion is advised.

Lastly, a majority of the animes on this list fall into these genres:
Avant-garde
"Dementia"
Psychological

Happy watching :)

Those series that had not one but TWO (or more!) anime adaptations!!

Disclaimer: I'm not sure that I know every anime that fits this criteria so I will add those that I already know about and add more as I see more of this (dm me or comment in my profile if you want me to add an specific item, stick to the rules down below tho). This will prolly need more parts due to the 50 items limit per list, any new part will be linked at the end of this description. This is not a recommendation list, there's some adaptations that I wouldn't recommend but they're included since it fits the topic of the list, as it's purpose is giving visibility to these type of cases.

Rules:
-Has to be at least 2 anime adaptations (regarding of length/episode number/format..) of the same original media (manga, novel, game, etc).
-Sequels don't count, so won't be added (you can search sequels for an adaptation on your own by clicking the name of the item to go to it's page). I do this to reduce the amount of items per list due to the 50 item limit per stack, in this way there's less parts needed for continue this 'project'.

If you have read my Underrated Anime stack, you'll know that a certain anime being over- or under-rated doesn't necessarily mean it's bad or good, just that the amount of praise/critique that it gets outweighs its actual quality. I will say, however, that many of the anime in this stack are ones that I love. I would, of course, recommend that you watch them all.

Akudama Drive or Flowers of Evil are probably the most underrated anime on this list, but aside from that, these shows and movies are in no particular order.
