There are good anime that stop after one or two seasons despite the source material still having a lot of good ground to cover, much to everyone's disappointment. So we wait, and wait and wait... for nothing.

This list features a selection of notable incomplete adaptations that have stuck in the limbo for at least five years without any new announcements, in most cases far longer than that. For simplicity's sake, I will only include the chronologically latest entry in the series, not the highest-rated or most widely known. The notability guideline I'm using is roughly based on a combination of rating and popularity at the time of inclusion.

What this list DOESN'T include:
* any original anime;
* any inconclusively finished anime based on games, mixed-media projects, or any other non-written sources;
* adaptations with anime-original endings meant to serve as a conclusion to the series (I strive to verify every entry in this regard, but please do inform me if something has been added in error);
* incomplete adaptations of manga and LNs that have gone on long or even indefinite hiatuses themselves, leaving potential new seasons of TV adaptation without enough content (e.g. Hunter x Hunter, Nana);
* adaptations of officially discontinued manga and LNs, as it's obvious the publisher isn't interested in having them done;
* incomplete adaptations with anime-original endings that stop before the part of the source material that very distinctly made the series' fans unhappy (Usagi Drop is a good example).

I also reserve the right not to include adaptations with anime-original ambiguous endings if there is no greater overarching plot thread carried on in the source material, or if the source material also ends ambiguously without wrapping it all up. Those are low-priority items.

See also the counterpart to this list: NotLikeThis — anime-original sequels nobody wanted: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/2355.

List alumni:
* Slam Dunk – a new movie has been announced, which will presumably pick up where the previous adaptation ended and cover the last game in the manga, which is also its best part.
* Spice and Wolf — a whole new season has been announced! Woof!

As much as we love the whole "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" and I do as well, this is where we showcase these Anime TV shows, movies, etc... when the ladies are being badasses.

Nothing is more sexy than seeing a strong lady kicking ass and looking great in doing so... so, here we go:

This stack is an ultimate starter pack if you are looking for anime with genius protagonists or characters with considerably high IQ. If mind games and intelligent moments are your go-to interests, this is the perfect stack for you.

For anime with sequels, only the first seasons of each have been included in the stack. The genres include (but are not limited to) psychological, mystery, isekai, sports, and romance/drama.

Long-running shounen anime have not been included in the list, except Detective Conan (in case you are looking for Bleach or Fullmetal Alchemist - yes, this is according to Aizen's plan too).

Part 2 of the series is in progress. Watch this space for updates ;)

Japan has waged countless wars within its territories and beyond her shores for thousands of years now, and in anime we can see some of the perspectives, interpretations and depictions the Japanese people have developed with regards to this topic.

In this stack list I have gathered what I consider to be the essential anime with the theme of war, whether they show it from the perspective of the soldiers who fight them or from the experience of the bystander civilians who have to endure its effects on society and the environment. War is a theme that comes up, even tangentially, in most of everything, so I can't really make a list of every good anime that has some reference to war in it, so here I tried to put shows that either have a direct focus on war as a core theme, or shows whose main focus isn't war and only have war related elements in certain limited sections, but still do provide an interesting and valuable perspective on it when the theme of war eventually comes up.

I don't necessarily agree with all of these shows' views on war (I actively disagree with some), nor do I believe every show here is good. I just think that all of these could offer interesting insight on the different perspectives about war that come up in Japanese animation. You decide which view of war you agree with the most or find most emotionally genuine and politically nuanced.

Here are some suggestions for anime closer to the themes we see in series and movies with North American and European actors!

Common factors:
• high marks from those who completed the work;
• story with complete character and plot development, where nothing is frivolous and can be taken up again in the future in the work;
• without undue exaggeration;
• script well made
• More realistic and coherent story with the universe of the work
• They are not extremely complex
• Managed to hold the attention of many people until the end
• Memorable endings

Other factors that can help bring other people closer to anime: a few episodes, and works dubbed in your language.

This list is a dedication to (in my personal opinion) some of the most incredible, talented, and best shows that I have ever watched. Whether it would be mystery, harem, isekai, or action, this list covers multiple genres. I hope this list finds you a anime that will become your next favorite!

Have you ever thought that what you are doing right now will always go smoothly?

However, reality is not like that.
Expectations are still expectations. Plans are plans. All of that can be destroyed easily.
That's what describes the anime in this stack.

A collection of fantasy or otherwise speculative fiction works including fanciful worldbuilding, without the utilization of the "Game mechanics verse" trope or the "Person from our world is reincarnated here" setup. (I would have said "no Isekai" but I'm open to stranger Isekai like Escaflowne being on the list). Earthlike worlds (including purported futures/histories) are allowed if they have something fanciful and distinctive. Only one entry per series/franchise.

These anime characters have autistic traits and/are implied to have autism. I’m no psychologist and I can’t say with certainty that some of these characters are autistic but I myself have autism so this is just based on my own experience and speculation based on the characters themselves. I’ll put my reasonings in here as well. (Sill writing descriptions)
