Interest StacksCritics & Connoisseurs was a club that was founded in 2008 and ended club activities on the 31st of 2022. These anime are mostly set at restaurants, cafes or bars. The characters are either working there, are frequent customers, or have yet another connection with these places. short anime with less than the standard 12 episodes, including some movies under an hour long and a select few ONA projects Slice of Life can be divide into two kinds, the fun one and the deep one. And this is my collection for truly slice of life drama animes. It represents the epitome of human nature and feelings. These animes might be inspirational ones that might hit you like a bullet to the heart. Every animated media that has been made has the idea to tell a story and to express a feeling on the watcher. But then, there are some series which has a particular way to evocate their sentiments and they use different tools to do that. Thought provoking writing, displaying the characters' internal monologues, their struggles and fears, using particular cinematographic angles and by blending contrasting styles of animation, coloring and highly symbolical and metaphorical imagery - these are some of the many hallmarks signifying the said animation has psychological themes, and that it is avant-garde in it's approach. This method of expression is not limited to any genre, as well. A list of anime I believe share a similar style of storytelling to the works of highly revered author, Haruki Murakami. Shows/movies where an advanced A.I. is a main character (usually as an android) or the show focuses on the dilemma surrounding their existence. When you think about it, humanity isn't that far away from achieving it. Shows/Movies of all kinds that are either meant for or can be enjoyed by an older audience. Story-driven thrillers, well researched historical shows, brilliant world-constructions, poetic narrations, gripping thrillers, dark comedies, complex future visions, tightly packed action, avant-garde art, solid entertainment, tear-jerking dramas to light-hearted slices of lives. This list includes arthouse (gonna strech this term in this list) that are have multiple episodes that from one story, so compilations like Neo Tokyo or Genius Party will not be in here.
