New Interest Stack
Interest Stacks![]() ![]() Includes regular anime series, movies, experimental shorts, and even music videos. Anything that can be considered unique in either its art style or method of animation. Probably not every entry in this list will be suited to one's taste, but as we all know, art is subjective. ![]() ![]() Featuring little to no dialogue and/or characters and the experience is carried by the music and/or visual atmosphere. ![]() ![]() As the title says, I created a stack called "Avant Garde and the Weirdest Box", and some weird Anime was not listed in it, so they will be listed here. Of course, there will also be Avant Garde anime that are not popular or not known by many people. ![]() ![]() This is a compilation of Avante-Garde shorts that are unique, mind-blowing and addicting. These will give you a different POV on the world of animation. ![]() ![]() Psychological themes delving in dark places, gloomy atmosphere, morbid humor or straight horror. ![]() ![]() I'm trying to keep the characters as young as possible because these works tend to present more imaginative, even incoherent, segments, often due to a limited perspective or understanding of the world inhabited by the characters. Typically, this entails engagement with the unknown or unfamiliar or scenarios that are not fully grasped, and tapping into that feeling is easiest with children. This can include ordinary life expressed in an abstract way in Googuri Googuri, the augmented reality of Dennou Coil, or the dream world of Little Nemo. Initially, the list was meant to catalog independent short films with imaginative transitions, as I feel these capture the tone of what I'm going for best, but there aren't enough good ones that meet my criteria. ![]() ![]() Guaranteed to make you say "what the fuck" or get your money back. ![]() ![]() These stacks are meant for cataloguing every stop-motion animation on Myanimelist. The list is the result of research by the Stop-Motion Animation Appreciation Society: ![]() ![]() The Stop-Motion Animation Appreciation Society club: https://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=16200 |
