I cant help but think that Noragami and its seconf season are at its core more polished versions of Blue Exorcist. Noragami deals with gods, while Ao No Exorcist is about demons. While Ao No Exorcist is pretty much what youd expect in a shounen like series, Noragami is something more. I cant promise the other way around that if you like Noragami you'll like Blue Exorcist, but I am saying it might definetly be worth a try.

Both second seasons of their series, they deal with a darker plotline and the similar dark pasts of the main character (Yato -Noragami; Dazai Osamu - BSD)

Both anime contains good mixture between action and humour! The main characters are not from this world plus they manage to get humans tangled in their mess. Both anime have male protagonist who delivers in the action and humour but gets shafted by the female characters. Definitely similar level of enjoyment.

For me, Noragami brought about the same feelings that InuYasha did more than a decade ago. The similarities abound, never mind that Yato is god and InuYasha is a half-demon. School girl from the present day - check. Dark past - check. Persistent female presence from the past that stands in the protagonist's way of moving on with their life - check. Family issues with an older male relative - check. Fantasy world - check, although it is urban fantasy in Noragami and medieval fantasy in InuYasha. Comedic moments abound in both but InuYasha wins on comedy front. Noragami wins in art style and  read more

A young girl getting caught up in supernatural affairs alongside a boy spirit and with similar moods to their stories. Both involve ghosts and action and the pasts of the supernatural boys that the stories revolve around.

Both give us hilarious and goofy main character with dark past. Both of them tries to be a better person by protecting people who are dear to them in their new lives and forgetting their past (or maybe learn from it?). Craving for some epic fight scene? Noragami and Scissor Seven are here to fulfill your hunger. Thirsty for some solid main characters with noteworthy supportings? Noragami and Scissor Seven are here to quench your thirst.

At moments they make you happy, at others they make you cry, at others they make you rage. Monogatari Second Season and Noragami Aragoto, aside of being the two supernatural and sequels, can really be compared because of they're atmosphere. The two know perfectly when and how to manipulate the feelings of the spectator and they do it very well. If you watch them, you're not gonna forget 'em so easily

Both have characters that turn into weapons and both have gods that play a large role

both plots are based on gods and their familiars although noragami was action packed , natsume wont have much action but it wil not dissapoint you natsume is the main character who has a book called "book of friends" which has names of all ayakashi's (phantoms) which gives direct control over all the ayakashi's who's name is present in the book , this book was created by his grandmother to collected the names of the ayakshi's by defeating them supprisingly natsume doesnt misuse it but returns their names and a lot of fun happens in this process , natsume yuujinchou is a must watch if you  read more

Both deals with the supernatural, both male MC were struggling to make ends meet, and it also involves a girl who somehow got involved with them, however one was more about comedy, while the other is about action.

Im actually SURPRISED noone made this recommendation yet. Its so similar to the extend where it involves r/s n FEELS between gods n human n livelong phenomenon creatures (yokai / ayakashi) Comedy wise, both are equally entertaining no lame cold jokes >.> Artwise, man 10/10 if u like Yato theres no way u wont like Tomoe n vice versa! Story wise, not only does both Yato n Tomoe have dark pasts but they also involved past X present n tons of amazing time leap stuff! These 2 are definitely my very best n favourite animes of all time and whole life :')

Tomoe and Yato are very similar, if you like one you like the other. Both have to do with gods and the struggle between balancing human life with the supernatural life.

This may be sound ridiculous..considering how far different the theme concept of both anime. So? Why you recommend each other? Its simple. The story and the feeling brought. Both of them have a similar kind of fate and bit by bits of storyline. They are connected with Gods, powerful being that hold control to the world and how the heaven and hell hold a powerful control that determines the whole story, simply to say...JUDGEMENTS from something beyond humans. Both of the series sacrificing the most dearest character of the main character which in the leaves a scar to us (the audience) of how the story could end with a happier kind  read more
