Both series heavily focus on teenage romantic comedy and drama antics, while also featuring extradimensional super robot fights with a lot of flair, presented in a MOTW format.

Both feature plots where the main cast members work as performers/actors at an establishment that's a front for a secret agency that uses mechas to fight against an evil sorcerer and the supernatural threats he sends against the world. While both have relatively lighthearted tones, Sakura Wars features more real robot style action, while Aquarion Logos is more super robot style.

different genre and premise, but if you take interest in stories that make use of the concept of kotodama, then you might check these for that reason as well. in both, characters fight by quite literally altering the shape of letters in their enemies' names, and taking away the name's properties. both start off with monster-of-the-week pattern.

Compare to Sidonia no Kishi this anime is less intense but has the same plot. Safe the world, fighting enemies, and getting the girl. Very sweet and funny.
