These are collection of series showcasing characters attempting to grow industrial cash crops for the majority or for large arc of the series. So much crop planting an Ohioan corn farmer would blush.

Shows/Movies of all kinds that are either meant for or can be enjoyed by an older audience. A treasure trove of excellence covering a wide range. Story-driven thrillers, well researched historical shows, brilliant world-constructions, poetic narrations, gripping thrillers, dark comedies, complex future visions, tightly packed action, avant-garde art, solid entertainment, tear-jerking dramas to light-hearted slices of lives.
No big-boob dumdums, high-pitched VAs, fan-/lip-service or plot-around-the-holes-type shows. Teenage angst and school-settings are rarities in these two lists.

Just as the title says, anime about food and cooking that are worth your time. Partner to my manga list.

Obviously, not every gourmet anime is on this list- I deliberately left off ones that I just don't like. Sorry, not sorry- you can message me if you think I've made a mistake and I'll let you know why your fav is not on here.

More hidden gems (once again, only ones that ranked below 2000 in 'Popularity' on MAL), though lesser ones than in part 1 in my view, but are still worth checking out. Will continue to fill the missing slots overtime.

self-explanatory title, the anime in this list have uncommon themes, like pottery, microbes, and (why not?) designing every life form that God wants. either this, or they have an unusual setting; like, a surrealist world or even your body. no, really; it may not be yours, but the setting of the anime is, indeed, a human body!

also, a bunch of those anime are part of the CGDCT sub-genre, since they seem to have pretty unusual topics

about Avant Garde genre,

Experimental fiction which shunned conventional storytelling at the time it was created. These stories often invoke unsettled feelings because they reject traditional ways in which we prefer to view (or escape from) the world. Narrative is avant garde works is often of higher importance than the content.

Deconstructions often fall into this genre. Note that simply being darker, edgier, or cynical doesn't mean the work is avant garde.

about the weirdest anime, well, actually I just said it, it's just some bizzare animes, I don't think I'm capable of understanding them all, but why not try? Weird things sometimes have interesting things hidden.

It's no secret that anime can get pretty weird sometimes. Many series take their audiences on a mind-boggling ride, leaving them to question everything they thought they knew about reality. While just about every anime title is weird in its own way, some are just beyond strange. They play with the audiences' minds, relying on psychological storylines and eccentric characters to keep everyone guessing.

Sometimes they don't even feel real at all and seem more like a strange dream. A lot of times, these kinds of series are too much for general audiences, becoming far too confusing to keep up with. But for those who enjoy the challenge, these anime are the perfect watch.

There are totally weird-anime titles that I have put on my other stacks before so I will not want to list them here because this is not a list to evaluate the quality of anime of different themes.

This is just what I found quickly, this list may change in the future

These openings are the most unusual openings among all openings. They might either tell you nothing about what the anime is about or tell you in the most criptic way possible. They might use unusual music or animation.

This is a list of awesome anime for awesome people that understand how awesome anime is and want to get better at seeing what is actually good. Not everything in the list is a masterpiece (most are) but everything is essential to understanding anime as a medium for drama.

This list will help you grow as a person. While the list is mainly based on my personal opinion it does note the average score of the series.
The list is made with the idea of reccomending series to people newer to anime and still trying to find the direction they want to take their preferences hence it has multiple entries of different genres.

This list will be 50 entries long, so prepare you buttcheeks and enjoy the ride.

(the list is in no particular order.)

This stack will feature anime with broad ecological and environmentalist themes.

For an anime to be considered environmentalist, it must primarily communicate a message regarding the condition of nature; moreover, it should portray nature as suffering, whether from pollution, deforestation, ecosystem collapse, or similar crises, in a manner that resonates with the Japanese environmentalist movement.

Feel free to recommend another anime I might miss.
Let's start with anime that is not in the database.

From Seitarou Kitayama lost anime: Physiology and Ecology of Plants (Shokubutsu seiri seitai no maki) 1922
source: Promiscuous Media_Film and Visual Culture in Imperial Japan, 1926-1945; pp.160

*Note: For this interest stack, The Anime Encyclopedia has been extensively used.
*Also, gratitude to anime-planet.com for their environmental tag. Without it, a considerable number of anime would be included here.
*Most of the descriptions were co-written using LLM technology, specifically Microsoft Bing Copilot, with the generative prompt: "Hi, can you write me a short synopsis about an anime named ..... with environmentalism themes?"

Update: On 18.8.2024, after watching the third part of the @WooKong1 anime history documentary, I added a few anime titles that were discussed in its ecological section. Overall, I highly recommend the video. A not fully animated movie mention in the video Godzilla vs Hedorah (1971)
