Rosario to Vampire

Youkai Academy is a seemingly normal boarding school, except that its pupils are monsters learning to coexist with humans. All students attend in human form and take normal academic subjects, such as literature, gym, foreign language, and mathematics. However, there is one golden rule at Youkai Academy—all humans found on school grounds are to be executed immediately!

Tsukune Aono is an average teenager who is unable to get into any high school because of his bad grades. His parents inadvertently enroll him into Youkai Academy as a last-ditch effort to secure his education. As Tsukune unknowingly enters this new world, he has a run-in with the most attractive girl on campus, Moka Akashiya. Deciding to stay in the perilous realm in order to further his relationship with Moka, he does not realize that beneath her beauty lies a menacing monster—a vampire.

Rosario to Vampire is a supernatural school comedy that explores Tsukune's romantic exploits, experiences, and misadventures with a bevy of beautiful but dangerous creatures.

Rosario + Vampire is a very entertaining, cute, and at times comedic harem/romance anime. Unlike with most shows in this genre, the male protagonist has a rather commendable and likeable character, through his dedicated and loyal love towards his girlfriend and friends, resilient nature, and motivation to protect those he cares for. I like the show's themes of acceptance and friendship/love beating human or "monster" vices such as greed for power, bigotry, lust, etc. To me the show is representative of the inner "monster" in people that can be overcome by good. That said, every episode in this series has a very similar formula. It ... may make the show very predictable at times, but ultimately it works well for the story line it strives to portray. I also absolutely adored the characters and the dynamics between them, as well as the art style and animation. Love the late 2000s anime style. The rough and budget animation adds to it! Give it a try, 9/10 from me (partly from the nostalgia).

Mixed Feelings

Rosario to vampire, is an anime and manga series written by Akihisa Ikeda; which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2004 or 2006 I think, an anime adaptation was made by studio Gonzo, in 2008, but how can I say the manga adaptation was fucking ruined by the TV series. And the analysis will cover both seasons of this shit.

First I want to talk about the protagonist Tsukune Aono, who in the manga is awesome and in the anime is a jerk. This shit simply has no charisma, no backstory that's worth it, it's not trash, but in terms of charisma he's far from ... being a Shiba Tatsuya by Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei , or a Natsu from Fairy Tail if you try too hard, I find the character too irritating. Now talking about Kurumu Kurono, I think she is simply the best character in the anime, mostly because she has blue hair, I think her personality reminds me a lot of Asuna from Sword Art Online, I don't know why.She is a character who is docile, kind, but sometimes she is very cheeky because she is a succubus and I love her very much, the best character in Rosario To Vampire. Now talking about Moka Akashiya, I think the personality of the one with pink hair is cute, but I like the one with white hair much more, she is a very badass heroine. I won't even comment on the other characters because they are so annoying, damn it, especially Moka's sister, she's so annoying. The animation of this shit is so ugly, it made me cry blood. But there are things that I liked, like some characters, but there are other things that make me question why I gave this shit an 8, and finally the second season became 100% romantic comedy and 0% action. And if there was a remake of the anime faithfully adapting the manga, it would be wonderful. The first season was ok but the second season was horrible. I recommend it only to those who want to be tortured, and it's the same In Another World With My Smartphone, the first season is pretty cool and the second season is crap. But otherwise it's a good anime.

Last time I watched this was around 2017 and it had a score of 7.12, but now in 2024 it has dropped to 6.74.
I think this is normal because after I rewatched this anime it was so boring!

Maybe the only good thing about this anime is its beautiful characters, especially Kurono Kurumu, there are songs for each character too, but that's all that's good about this anime.

The first flaw in the male MC is that he is too geeky, just from his appearance and voice it is clear that this is a geeky MC who often appears in harem anime.
There are also some scenes that ... are quite annoying from this MC, such as him feeling useless because he is always helped by his female friends, yes basically the MC here is really too weak, so that you cannot protect yourself, let alone other.

Second, the storyline always repeats itself in every episode, there is no change or progress in the story, it only revolves around the school area with the same pattern.
For example, the beginning is normal, suddenly there is an NPC who wants Moka or the MC, then the MC releases the Rosario that is on Moka, suddenly turning into a Vampire with the same style and music. I get tired of seeing when Moka turns into this Vampire so I always skip this.
After becoming a Vampire Moka beats up enemies in just a few seconds, even this is explained by a bat, very un-epic!
Problem solved, enemy give up quickly, continue in the next episode the same thing will happen again, The only difference is who the troublemaker is, the rest will be the same, MC releases Rosario, Moka fights, problem solved, the most boring thing is that Moka will definitely suck MC's blood at the end.

In my opinion, there is nothing special about this, so it is not recommended to watch, especially for those who are really bored with harem anime with boring flirting style.
