KimiKiss Pure Rouge

Ahhh too luv....with love triangles and udon and movies!

Kimikiss Pure Rouge is something of a spiritual predecessor to Amagami SS and to that end was the main reason why LA wanted to watch this anime aaaaand, well it has some defining traits in which Amagami SS would later refine. Kimikiss Pure Rouge DO NOT take on the omibus format where the main male protagonist pursues one of the girls, no instead we have TWO love triangles with TWO main male protagonists, that of Kazuki Aihara voiced by Takahiro Mizushima and Kouichi Sanada voiced by Satoshi Hino. LA has some good and bad things to say ... about this but that a bit later.

So since this IS a character-focused romance anime, well let's get into the characters or more or less, the love triangles. Let's start with Kouichi's with Yuumi Hoshino voiced by Ami Koshimizu and Mao Mizusawa voiced by Haruna Ikezawa, see at the start Kouichi is a childhood friend with Mao (and with Kazuki as well) and Koicuhi has a crush on the timid bookish Yuumi and Mao pushes Koiuchi to get into a relationship with Yuumi. Later on, well Mao gets into a relationship with Eiji Kai voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, a loner type character. So as Kouichi and Yuumi's relationship as well as Mao and Kai's relationship also grows, well later on, let's just say that Mao gets different feelings and incomes the conflict drama with this love triangle. Kazuki's love triangle is a bit more simpler than Kouichi as he ALSO has a childhood friend in this case the sporty, tsundere Asuka Sakino voiced by Ryou Hirohashi and Eriko Futami voiced by Rie Tanaka, the mysterious love interest who's a genius but has bad "food" tastes.

Kouichi's love triangle was definitely one of the more interesting love triangles of the anime and MUCH more complicated than Kazuki's but LA says this especially in the case of "interesting" as love triangles does drag things out until the blatant love interest wins in the end, not in this case and Kazuki's love triangle does something similar as well but Kimikiss Pure Rouge gives us a chance for either love interest a chance and heck the anime gives us interaction with the other love interests, be it about the romance or just simple banter. But the main reasoning is that both love triangles gives us two great choices in love interests with some level of personality be it with their male protagonist and even as individuals and you want the both of the love interests in their love triangles to be happy. But again once the conflict drama appears, it only makes things interesting, instead of slow, slog of them dating and not much else and the drama that leads onto it makes the anime much more interesting

But to this comes in some of the flaws towards the love triangles in the first place and that is the conflicted feelings in the main love triangles when the conflict drama comes into play though it's much lighter than you think and the love interests even talk it out and being all round civil even when the character feelings are out of wack, Mao being the biggest victim in this, whilst Asuka is close but not as bad as Mao. LA won't say about whether Kouichi or Kazuki made the right decision as that's a more opinionated based assumption but for LA's preference, Futami was LA's favourite character for her "mysteriousness" and her odd gap moeness to go along with it and Mao for Kouichi's love triangle as Yuumi is the typical shy girl wanting to be more active and she's like that to a T. Anyways because of how Kouichi and Kazuki gets with one of the girls for the first half of the anime comes to the detriment or more or less a double edged sword as the other love interest will in this case, unintentionally be either out of the picture or come into the conflict drama, hey even the fact that both love triangles has a childhood friend and the aspect of it are touched upon especially with Mao and Asuka in differing situations but still seeing these situations are frustrating at times as it gets delved upon, be it as the one dating or looking at the main couple through the eyes of the childhood friend.

Now aside from the main love triangles there are a few minor characters, such as Akira Hiiragi voiced by Jun Fukuyama, being friends with Kazuki and Kouichi and is the leader of the Movie Club Association who brings Koiuchi to be scriptwriter, Nana Aihara voiced by Sakura Nogawa, Kazuki's younger sister and Narumi Satonaka voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi who pretty much the annoying little sister posse and with Narumi, she wants to be like her grandfather and master udon chef and even makes an udon Association. Though not as prominent and MUCH latter on, Hiiragi gets a small love triangle, with Mitsuki Shijou voiced by Mamiko Noto who helps with the movie that Kouichi makes and Megumi Kuryuu voiced by Mai Nakahara, a public moral committee member and is the strict type (obviously). These minor characters do heavily support the main cast though Narumi and Nana can be...annoying especially with their "Iwao and Juliet frog plushie skits" but nonetheless they sometimes push the plot to Kazuki, Kouichi and Mao and the rest of the love interests.

Really due to how character focused this anime is, it allows almost every character to be wholly developed both romantically and individually and thus you want ALL of them to be happy but since Kouichi and Kazuki can only pick one...yeaaaaaaaa, nonetheless due to how subdued the anime is with it's much more dramatic moments the anime never goes full teen angst and LA can thank the anime for that at least.

The animation done by JC Staff...isn't too bad, the character designs are distinct (though LA got Nana and Narumi confused at time) and decent backgrounding. The animation does dip, especially towards the latter half of the anime though REALLY rare but LA won't fault the animation either way. But because the animation is just kinda basic, mostly in a good way though, decent character designs but since Kimikiss Pure rouge is a character focused, non action, romance focused anime...yeah, expect placid but decent animation.

Voice acting, especially with it's voice cast was GREAT. Rie Tanaka, Ami Koshimizu, Ayako Kawasumi, Mamiko Noto, Ryou Hirohashi and Mai Nakahara. Takahiro Mizushima as Kazuki was great though Satoshi Hino was a bit laxxed even in his dramatic moments to Ami Koshimizu in another rare "shy" girl role but nonetheless not much else to say but this was a decent voice cast with Rie Tanaka as Eriko and Haruna Ikezawa as Mao being LA's favourites in the anime.

The finale, well this is entirely LA's opinion but how Kouichi dealt with Yuumi and Mao was poorly handled, almost anger inducing but his finale was dramatic but fulfilling oddly enough. As for Kazuki, well he dealt with his love triangle at the end much better and was much more proactive in comparison. By the by, Kazuki's love triangle overall was dealt in a better manner than Kouichi from start to end, at least his love triangle wasn't "ALMOST anger inducing" like Kouichi was.

So yeah, Kimikiss Pure Rouge showed signs of being LIKE Amagami SS and heck even some of the characters in this anime has shades of characters from Amagami, like Mao and Asuka being Rihoko and Kaoru respectively, Nana and Narumi antics being similar to Miya, Eriko showing shades of Tsukasa, Yuumi being the base template for Sae (though Sae was WORSE in LA's opinion) and Kouichi being like Juunichi in Kaoru and Sae's route at the same time. Kimikiss Pure Rouge has some problems especially with how they handle the love triangle, for the good and bad of it, the fluffing around of the minor characters through the entire anime and that might even mood whiplash the conflict drama.....to udon, movie making and frog plushies...yeah.

Kimikiss Pure Rouge is no Amagami SS and as LA said, Amagami SS refined this situation and makes "EVERYONE" happy with an omibus format but even LA said that LA wouldn't be angry with whoever Kouichi and Kazuki chooses, it's a lose lose situation but with character development of the main cast to outside their base personalities, interesting (sometimes frustrating) love triangles and an overall decent production value......Kimikiss Pure Rouge is fine, no Amagami SS but is the template for what Amagami SS would be and be for the better.

Pure Rouge....nah, more like...Pure RAAAGGG- Jaded...jaded.

In essence, this is a quite classic romantic anime. What makes it a bit better than other animes of the genre is the larger than usual cast of characters, and the fact that it actual features two lead pairs.

The characters themselves are also quite classic, but a few twists here and there prevents them from being too predictable.

The anime also has the usual flaws of the genre: too many "Oh, it's nothing" lines at times, characters conveniently catching deadly colds from rain, etc.

Still, the double pair of leads saves the show, perhaps because it gives it enough density to be entertaining.

Kimikiss in One Sentence (one of the most shitest romance show ever) which supposed to be an anime filled with romance and drama, but it ends up being a confusing and disappointing jumble. Right from the start, the series can’t decide what it really wants to be, juggling too many love triangles and character stories, which eventually causes it to fall apart.

A show with 24 episodes which you think is about romance, within a few episodes you realize why 24 episodes, for a garbage with makes no sense

story - The plot in this tale is a mess. There are too ... many love stories intertwined, but they are confusing and not well thought out, so it’s hard to care about any of them. Especially frustrating is the main love triangle involving Koichi, Mao, and Yuumi. Rather than adding substance, it actually makes the story worse, transforming what could have been a heartwarming tale into a tedious read. The emotions seem fake, and the romantic scenes fall flat, failing to evoke any real feelings.

and mostly the female characters of this type of show who are ready to destroy the whole story with their selfishness , fake emotions, and drama .

story in short ( A young girl finds out that her childhood friend, who she treats like a little brother, has feelings for another girl. She decides to help him pursue his crush. Unexpectedly, she meets someone new for herself. Then, she has a surprising realization bitch realize i am in love with my childhood friend.( andthe main villian of the story) then your main character’s love story was going well until a childhood drama messed it up. From the start, it was clear that he was trying to impress his crush and taking steps to win her over. The girl also had feelings for him. It was a sweet love story between two shy high school kids, In short, it's a love story between two shy, innocent high school kids, blooming like a flower in a garden, but a childhood disease killed that beautiful love flower. Out of nowhere, he realizes, "Oh, I have a childhood love too."

Koichi, who is meant to be the main character, is incredibly boring and indecisive. His lack of personality and purpose makes it hard to root for him. He goes through the series without any clear drive, so every moment with him seems like a letdown.
Bro worked hard for her love crush, making moves to grab her attention, but suddenly, in one episode, mf realize I'm in love with my childhood friend, whom i was calling big sister until now .
writer was writing his own shit .

Mao, the xhitest character of the show your childhood friend, is a prime example of inconsistent character development. At times, she’s there for you, but then she inexplicably becomes jealous without evolving much. These characters can make shows frustrating. Initially, she encourages Koichi’s connection with Yuumi. However, after a random kiss with someone else, she unexpectedly realizes she has feelings for Koichi. and this not the first bitxh who messed up with the show. like i said these female characters are the reason not to watch

then Yuumi is portrayed as a love interest for Koichi in the show, but she ends up feeling neglected and unimportant as soon as Mao’s feelings enter the picture. It’s frustrating to witness her being pushed aside and reduced to a mere obstacle in Mao and Koichi’s complicated relationship.

The other characters in the story, like Eriko and Kazuki, don’t really add much. They just make the already crowded story even more confusing. They don’t bring anything important to the plot.

overall - “KimiKiss: Pure Rouge” is an anime that aims to bring you romance and drama, but ends up becoming a confusing and frustrating mess. Right from the start, the series faces an identity crisis, unable to juggle its many love triangles and character stories, and eventually crumbling under the pressure.

Calling it a romance would be an insult to the romance genre.,If you’re looking for a love story that will touch your heart and stay with you as a beautiful and memorable experience, I suggest choosing heartfelt tales like CLANNAD instead over this shit garbage
