New Interest Stack
Interest StacksWhile mostly known today as the character designer for My Hero Academia, Yoshihiko Umakoshi's recognition as one of anime's finest predates it by quite a lot. Getting his start as an animator at Toei Animation, Umakoshi was involved in some of Toei's biggest shoujo manga adaptations in the 90s, translating the shoujo aesthetic, with its quirks and all, onto the TV screen. This would culminate in Umakoshi's designs for Ojamajo Doremi, which sees his mastery of creating memorable characters, striking a fine balance between cute and cartoonish. Only series that are ranked below 2,000 in 'Popularity' on MAL. Continuation of my previous list of anime series not so well known for their titles, some not necessarily underestimated, but easy to go unnoticed in the community. Shows where ships play some fairly notable part in the story. Stack is biased toward ocean-going vessels. Submarines are also included. Anime with the setting of the tragic world wars that occurred last centuries, Anime that are either set around in World war or are inspired by it. Main character uses modern knowledge and/or technology in another world, often to achieve great success, or at least impress the people living in that world. So this stack is not intended to offend anyone, it's a list made from my observations in the community about some works that maybe at some point were popular or had their moments of fame but nowadays very few people talk about. There seem to be a lot of ways to watch anime but sometimes there are certain outliers that don't make their way to any legal streaming service OUTSIDE OF JAPAN (these criteria are mainly made using LiveChart.me as they list official streaming services to view anime and The Streamable), this stack aims to shine a light on these series, however, some rules are to be followed: Educational Anime idk how else to describe it, there's just something to them that captivates me. often involving action, mechas, powerful (often female) leads with interesting characterization. they really don't make anime like they used to...
