Both are laugh-your-stomach-out comedies. Main characters are alike. Prince Baka and prince Patalliro are real trolls. Kraft-san resembles Bancoran and they are both mocked at by their princes.

What Patalliro is to Scooby Doo, Tokimeki Tonight is to the Addams Family. - Both have same vibe, comedy and humour (though I think Patalliro is funnier) - Both of them are gag anime i.e. they both centre around physical slapstick humour and running gags. - Both have a vintage early 80s style of animation (though Patalliro's animation and art style is infinitely better and more stylish) - Both have a frivolous use of the supernatural, time-travel etc. without much care for the plot holes it creates (their focus is comedic) - Both are largely episodic but also have a running plot that overarches the series. - Both are full  read more
