A non-curated roster of High Fantasy works.

High Fantasy is a subgenre of Fantasy focusing on entirely original worlds and histories, as opposed to Low Fantasy, where the magical and/or supernatural instead intrude upon the Earth that we know. Note that the term "High" does not mean this subgenre is of inherently greater quality than the other, though of course many have identified such a coincidental trend.

It is a common misconception that High Fantasy and Low Fantasy instead refer to the level to which magic and all it entails are integrated into the world, with those where said elements are abundant being "High" and if rare then "Low." This is, however, completely incorrect, as the distinction is actually in how removed the world is from our own.

There is, naturally, a spectrum between the subgenres, rather than a clear-cut line. Isekai, for instance, is somewhere in the middle, as though works of that genre typically involve a completely fictional setting, the real world is still relevant. For that reason, no Isekai appear on this list, thankfully.

Because of the popularity of what was mentioned above, High Fantasy is in something of a state of decline. Note that the majority of entries shown are from before the turn of the century. Care has been taken, however, to include more recent examples, few though there are.

Sequels, remakes, spinoffs and the like are omitted for brevity.

This is a comprehensive list of old retro anime and new modern anime that prominently feature "Bikini Armors" as the main clothing choice within a high fantasy setting as seen in https://anidb.net/tag/1101 (no hentai or explicit content)

Bikini armor is a female-exclusive fantasy armor that only covers the breasts and pubic area and leaves the cleavage, midriff, thighs and legs exposed. first appeared in western comics like Conan and Red Sonja, then adopted by master mangaka Osamu Tezuka Sensei in his masterpiece titled "Prime Rose", the bikini armor saw a huge boom from the mid 80's to mid 90's, nowadays the bikini armor is a staple in fantasy animes such as in Queen's Blade and Bikini Warriors.

Usually worn by attractive female warriors/witches or heroines/villainesses in fantasy worlds to maximize exposure of body parts such as the cleavage, midriff, buttocks, hips, thighs, legs. The top part covering the breasts is either a bikini top or shaped much like a brassiere with metallic reinforcement. The bottom may be a bikini bottom, a thong, highleg or lowleg panties, pelvic curtains, tribal loincloths, open skirts, briefs, short shorts, hot pants, chaps, side faulds along with some accessories like blade sheaths, scabbards, holsters, battle helmets, hairbands, headdresses, crowns, tiaras, diadems, hats, forehead gems, forehead jewels, forehead protectors, capes, pauldrons, bracers, gloves, gauntlets, elbow pads, knee pads, shoulder pads, chokers, necklaces, ear rings, neck rings, jewelry rings, belly chains, full body ribbons, stockings, piercings, tattoos, scars, belts, cuffs, bandages, masks, make-up, circlets, armlets, arm straps, armbands, bracelets, shin guards, thighlets, thigh straps, thigh bands, anklets, wrist guards, corsets, capelets, collars, garters, pasties, harnesses, arm & leg warmers, vambraces, codpieces, high heels, Greek sandals, boots and greaves.

Short form anime series on this site can often be underappreciated. In the same way poetry is radically different from fiction novels, which are radically different from screenplays and so forth, I view shorter series, typically OVAs, in the same way. Too frequently they're compared to TV series, and there will be many comparative allusions roughly paraphrasing, "You can't expect much from the story/characters because of how short it is", or other similar comments. The value of the efficacy of the presentation in both shorter and longer series are for the most part incomparable to each other. They both strive to do very different things through very different means despite the shared medium of "anime". Of course, what constitutes the differences or goals of a creator is quite vast, but the point is that from my personal view, because the context of the existence of shows that would either be shorter in length or longer are so different and require much different means for communicating the information that they present, I think they should be judged by different standards. How a person judges them is up to themselves, but I do believe short series are worthy of the praise that many would only attribute to more lengthy series. What I want to do is give reverence for the fun-sized length series I have come across and enjoyed to some degree.

What constitutes a “short” series is something shorter in length than a standard minimum length TV series, which is 12 episodes in length. The focus is not on the number of episodes, but rather judging roughly the amount of time. So, if there is a series with 24 episodes, but they are only 3 minutes in length, for example, that would constitute a short series.
