From 1977 to 1985, Sanrio produced movies through their Sanrio Films label. After A Journey Through Fairyland, Sanrio switched gears and started doing short films, OVAs, and TV shows based on their characters. "Unico brings happiness to people he encounters while traveling from one place to another." Osamu Tezuka was a Japanese manga artist, cartoonist, animator, and film producer. His prolific output, pioneering techniques, and innovative redefinitions of genres earned him such titles as "the father of manga," "the godfather of manga" and "the god of manga." Additionally, he is often considered the Japanese equivalent to Walt Disney, who served as a major inspiration during Tezuka's formative years. This list includes those anime films distributed on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray in Mexico. Currently, due to the death of the home format in Mexico, they are all discontinued editions, but they are collectible pieces for every Mexican anime fan.
