These are H&E series I'd categorize as "Progressive."

This doesn't indicate quality, originality, or anything sociopolitical so much as being H&E series that have priorities which radically depart from traditional H&E priorities. They could do anything from use some wacky narrative structure to implementing ecchi in some way to focusing more heavily on the MC relative to the harem. Things that go outside of the priorities stated in the traditionalist stack, and either in ways that are far too pronounced to be considered moderate, departing from tradition far too often to be considered moderate, or both.

I'm not saying these series don't tend to appeal to H&E fans, or might appeal more to people who don't typically like H&E. I'm saying that these are the series that don't adhere to traditional sensibilities within the genre, for better or for worse.

Anime that centers around a character's job.

Anime that focus on bizarre jobs(e.g. Ishuzoku Reviewers) or anime that aren't focused primarily on a character's job and relations with co-workers(e.g. Hataraku Maou-Sama!) are excluded.

Shows with Harem tag on it, however it turns out it's not really 'Harem'.

It's just a goddamn clickbait.

just some of the many animes that I consider essential for my fellow lolicon, NEET and Otaku alike! I hope you have a nice time!

I'm mostly recommending the ones I've watched/know about!

also, one last thing, not all of them are Loli focused only, most just have lolis around

I personally don't like romance, a few of romance the ones I put here are either because they're a 'must be' in a loli anime stack, or because I genuinely like them

(Anime version of this stack: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/47658)

Oldish anime featuring characters that evoke the 萌え (moe) reaction as per the standards in the early-to-late 2000's, when the so-called moe phenomenon was at its peak in Japanese wota-culture. The anime I've listed here vary greatly in terms of genre, subject matter, and popularity, but they all hold the moe factor in common (in my opinion, anyways.) Some of the popular series have resurfaced here in the Western side in recent years as part of an internet-born aesthetic known most commonly as "animecore."

*If you're not familiar with the concept of "moe" or would like to learn more about it, I also recommend reading these great books on it:

Anime that were popular in the early 2000s but are much more rare to hear about nowadays

Note: The numbers compare their peaks of popularity to Haruhi's.

Honorable Mentions (removed): Ghost Hunt, Soukou no Strain, School Rumble

Honorable Mentions (still too popular): Kerero Gunsou, Full Metal Panic!, Chobits, Natsume Yuujinchou, Tokyo Mew Mew, Familiar of Zero, and Shugo Chara

Please tell me if I missed any! Given the nature of this list, I'm sure it could be modified a lot! xD
