12-sai.

Watching “12-sai.: Kiss, Kirai, Suki” reminded me of “Yumeiro Patissiere”. In this piece we have a love triangle similar to the one running through the older series. One of the main differences in the love triangle was that all three characters had more traits then the stereotypes that were used for the three characters in “Yumeiro Patissiere”, and the guy is far from being the jerk Kashino is in “Yumeiro Patissiere”. In fact – one of the things I liked about Takao-kun was the fact he was actually mature for his age. Another thing I liked was how it dealt with the issue of Kokoa much cleaner then “Yumeiro Patissiere” did. Despite being a short piece “12-sai.: Kiss, Kirai, Suki” also made me look at the character dynamics in “Yumeiro Patissiere” in a new light. read more 

At the start of this, seeing the main character immediately brought my thoughts to MIkan from Gakuen Alice. Aside from their dangerously close art design and description, their personalities were almost spot on for one another -- cute little girls with pigtails that are constantly bullied by boys, etc. You get the gist. They're that precious type of personality. The main boy also had some similar physical characteristics to Gakuen Alice's main love interest, Natsume. Their personalities are on opposite ends of the spectrum, but that is what makes for a good differentiation. Plots are obviously different, on a grand scale at least, but they are both pretty much idealistic replicas of the other if you're looking for that cutesy, shoujo romance that is expected. I immediately thought of Naisho no Tsubomi when i watched 12-sai. Both anime are about the main character going through and experiencing the change from a child to a grow up. Naisho no Tsubomi mc is 11 and 12-sai mc is 12 years old. 12-sai is more focused on falling in love, while each episode of Naisho no Tsubomi is focused on general "growing up" (falling in love, puberty, becoming an older sibling)
