Interest Stacks![]() ![]() Interested in the genre? Despite what people might say, mecha is a rich character focused genre with a variety of incredibly unique stories to tell. Here's a collection of shows with short, straight-to-the-point descriptions about each. Note that some of these were translated by fans, and aren't available officially/legally. A good amount of these are available on various streaming services, tho as for all well you might have to sail the high seas a bit. Disregard my personal scores, as its subjective at end of the day and you might like it. Also please don't dismiss some of these just because they're really old, they pretty much all hold up well even today. Check each out, and see what strikes your fancy. Any shows I personally haven't watch I got info on from fellow mecha friends of mine: ![]() ![]() Mecha anime where the characters don't pilot the robots but fight alongside them or control them remotely. Ordered alphabetically by their English titles. ![]() ![]() Only series that are ranked below 2,000 in 'Popularity' on MAL. ![]() ![]() Anime aired in Spain's TV channels (public or private), listed with the Spanish title. Might be missing some or be messy: I wanted to add the most important but also the less obvious. Excluding most sequels & movies. ![]() ![]() Anime that are heavily overlooked on MAL (at the time of writing, under 20k members). Most, if not all of them are also underrated. Will likely add stuff in the future as I watch them. ![]() ![]() A protagonist duo that watches each others backs or one of the duo providing support to the more able partner. ![]() ![]() Anime that were dubbed in its entirety by Ocean Productions, a Canadian based dubbing group in Vancouver, Canada. ![]() ![]() My favorite super robot anime in a somewhat ranked fashion. My taste is pretty basic but as far as super robot anime goes tou cant go wrong with any of this. ![]() ![]() Anime featuring mainly traditionally animated, hand drawn robots made between the year 2000 and 2009. As CGI started being used in anime in this period, some mecha series started shifting towards CGI robots, I think this list would be really helpful. ![]() ![]() Yasuhiro Imagawa is a Japanese anime director and screenwriter. Much of his work evokes nostalgia for 1970s super robot mecha anime. He is best known for his involvement in anime such as Giant Robo (1992), Mobile Fighter G Gundam (1994), Berserk (1997), Tetsujin 28-go (2004) and Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact! (2009). |
