Masaaki Yuasa is a very experimental and often surreal creator and a personal favourite. I put together a list of anime he directed.

There are a few anime listed here he only directed part of: Anime Rakugo Kan; Genius Party; Space Dandy.

The title says it all. If you love Rhett & Link, you should watch those anime.

This is a list of anime with super high-quality English dubs.
Some of these dubs are even better than their native Japanese counterparts due to their focus on accents and the emotional delivery of lines.
Context is also essential as many of these animes you'll be seeing on this list don't exclusively take place in Japan, so the mannerisms and speech will make more sense in English.
An excellent example of that is Baccano and Black Lagoon.

These animes are the exception to the rule of "English Dub = Bad."
Some of them are also arguably better, but that's a debate for another forum ;)

Modern anime tends to get the understandable reputation that it sucks, thanks to being filled with lowest common denominator isekai and shounen slop, so instead of focusing on that, I'll be celebrating the best anime to have come out since 2007. The following may share any of the following categories:

- Well written plots and characters
- Thought provoking themes
- Mature tone
- Good sound design
- Actually good animation, not just flashy colors over bad storyboarding ala MAPPA
- Unconventional storytelling and visuals

I also tried to avoid including sequels without their predecessors, so something like the Haruhi movie wouldn't count as its series predates the set date.

It includes all kinds of sci-fi anime subgenres from dystopian, utopian, aliens, space operas, comedy, dark and psychological etc. A variety of selection to explore the world of my favourite genre which is sci-fi. It includes extremely serious nerve wrecking stories to absolutely light hearted fun ones.

Considered an auteur of Japanese animation by film and television critics, Watanabe's work is characterized by evocative uses of music, mature themes, and the incorporation of multiple genres.
