Hello Kitty no Kaguya-hime and Hello Kitty no Kaguya-hime (2001) are Sanrio's retelling of the folklore 'The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter' starring Hello Kitty as Princess Kaguya. The older and more fleshed out Hello Kitty no Kaguya-hime (1993) is 28 minutes long while Hello Kitty no Kaguya-hime (2001) is 15 minutes long and came with Hangyodon in The Emperor's New Clothes in Hello Kitty's Animation Theater 4a.

Kaguya-hime no Monogatari addpermalink

Both about the folklore 'The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter'. Hello Kitty no Kaguya-hime could be a good introduction to the folklore for younger audiences as it stars Hello Kitty. For a mature and better retelling, then there's Kaguya-hime no Monogatari.
