It's the same. Young people making doujinshi and trying to sell them...

Also deals with going to Comiket, doujinshi fandom, and eventually self-publishing a doujinshi.

Both series have weird characters, betting their life on manga. Though one is a perverted serialized mangaka, while the other is a naive girl that just started into the doujin world.

Kind of obvious, both are based on 4komas, deal with the daily life of a group of girls, and both are funny as hell. Only diferrence is Lucky Star is really random while Dojin Work has a story.

Both illustrates how manga/doujin artists do work behind the scenes.

Both animes focus on the porn industry. Both the protagonists are innocent girls that have little experience on the field but end up liking their job, even in a sexual way

Both anime have a young girl who dreams to become master mangaka. Both anime about otaku. Some characters of both anime likes cosplay and eromanga.

They're both hilarious slice-of-life and the humor is to appeal to a certain audience (you know who you are! ^^) Doujin Work is all about doujinshi and has a cast of mostly cute girls (and Justice). The humor is a little perverted but it is funny nonetheless. A girl named Najimi discovers the world of doujinshi and her life turns upside-down. In Yuru Yuri, there is one girl who likes to make doujinshi (Kyouko Toshinou), and there is an episode involving her dragging her friends to Comiket. Aside from that, there are tons of running gags and all sorts of funny. A lot of the humor from both  read more

Both series focuses on the main protagonist trying to follow a dream involving a profession. Both series contain comedy, drama, and a little romance. While Rec is more mature, both anime contains a smooth boundary despite being short series.

If you're looking for anime of a moe sort, you'll definitely enjoy both series.

Both are about the trials and tribulations of making/selling doujinshi.

Get pulled into the unfamiliar world, the main character don't have any idea of what she should do. However both are highly motivated, by different reasons.

Wacky humor, almost identical art style, similar length. If you're up for some good laughs without committing to anything, these two series gets the job done.

Both deal with the problems of otaku (in the true sense of the word). I think both of them are terrible, terrible anime, but If you enjoyed one you'll probably like the other, so don't mine my opinion, and give it a try.

Both shows have a lot of sex jokes with characters who look too young to be making such jokes. But they're still both hilarious. They revolve around a lot of misunderstandings, in which one character thinks the conversation is about something different than the other character thinks it is about. Basically, the style of humor for the two shows is just really similar, and since humor is the only reason to watch these kinds of shows, I don't see why you would like one and not the other.
