A Comprehensive and Chronological List of Japanese Animated works that have been nominated for an Academy Award.

What I look for the most in an anime above everything else is high-quality writing. That's not to say that manga, visual novel, and light novel adaptations are written poorly; in fact, there are some that have incredible, masterfully-crafted storylines. I have simply personally found that some of the most unforgettable series for me have been novel adaptations.

Given that there currently exists no anime search option for this, the basis of this interest stack is to provide a list of full-length novels that have been adapted into series or movie format.

List of stand-alone movies

List of animes that are easy to understand without any complex plot and can hook you up in just first few episodes.

-Includes all types of genre but mostly (slice of life, comedy, romance)
-Anime with no fan service
-Little to no gore or violence

Some anime which may have an unexpected or emotional scene to it that may make you want to cry or feel empty inside. This list includes less romantic (although there still are some), but more of a platonic love tearjerkers as a whole. This list includes no side stories.
