Here's a bunch of goodies lacking love, many of which are obscure, others just underappreciated. Almost all of them lean more towards being lighthearted, cute and silly. (Not necessarily all at once.) Lots of adventure, too! Keep in mind that they're not all "must-see", but this should still be a great source for finding something new and enjoyable.

It is perhaps worth noting that I rate things entirely on gut feeling. It's just, "I like that, that was good, it gets a 7.", that's the whole process. I can also find enjoyment in just about anything and there's very little that bothers me.

A list of anime containing ecchi elements, but are not tagged as ecchi by MAL. While the ecchi content may not be as prevalent or extreme as officially-tagged ecchi titles, there is still enough to be of interest to fans of the ecchi genre. Many of these register at least 1.5/3 stars on AniDB's "tag-weighting" system for ecchi.
Conversely, those who don't care for ecchi may wish to use this stack for cautionary purposes, as these titles may contain things like pantyshots, revealing outfits, incestuous overtones, oversized/jiggling breasts, swimsuit/lingerie moments, extended bath/shower scenes, lewd dream/fantasy sequences, innuendo, or general fanservice in an otherwise serious/"respectable" show.
Only the first seasons of franchises are listed. Some titles may (eventually) have additional details explaining why I've placed them on the list.

Anime featured in the Anime Vision Video Magazine, which was released on VHD videodisc throughout the mid 80s.

Anime Vision featured upcoming and current animation, usually OVAs, as well as alot of interviews and behind-the-scenes with artists, directors, voice actors and other crew. It was usually presented with skits and a relaxed pace, and is well-worth a watch if you can track them down. There are also some original pack-in shorts, seemingly cancelled series and even 80s fanart which you can't find anywhere else!


Currently up to end of issue 2 as that's all I've been able to find. There were a total of 20 issues.

List of anime that contributed to the bishoujo boom (commonly referred to as the lolicon boom) of the late 70s and early 80s, or were made in the wake of it.

I'll be leaving off porn OVAs like Cream Lemon and Lolita Anime as to not restrict this list's visibility, but please do keep in mind the importance of these titles as well.

The 100 Best Anime Movies is a book created by Álvaro López Martín and David Heredia Pitarch, which seeks to review those films in the history of anime that they consider the best, thus generating a complete guide to those works that are a must-see for those who are starting in the world of anime cinema as well as those who were already there.

Personally, although I would add some and remove others, I can certainly say that it is a fairly complete list and that it could be useful for someone who is interested in entering this fascinating world.

story element that exists or existed in Real Life but is assumed to be fictional by the audience, often because it seems too unlikely, bizarre, or kitschy to be real. Sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction...

So why do viewers assume these shiny spruces must be fictional? Well as it happened, A Charlie Brown Christmas contributed to their demise. After the special aired, sales plummeted, and tinsel trees had all but disappeared by 1971.

In short, when a quaint element of Real Life appears in a work of fiction, the audience might mistake it for part of the fiction. The usual reason is lack of familiarity with the object, so it is more likely to trip up those viewing the work from a different perspective (e.g. years after the work was created, or from another culture). And most "aluminum Christmas trees" are, like the original, a bit out-of-the-ordinary and kitschy. Even so, it's immensely funny (to those in the know) when someone dismisses a Real Life element as patently absurd and "unrealistic
