Synopsis

The Straw Hat Crew arrives at the desert island of Alabasta to help Princess Nefertari Vivi stop the social unrest her country is facing. Behind the heated conflict is the Baroque Works pirate organization, which has been conspiring against the kingdom with the aim of stealing the secrets of an ancient mass destruction weapon. As the situation grows out of control, Monkey D. Luffy and Vivi must quell the revolution before the nation collapses entirely.

It's very hard to rate this movie, because the work that it's based off of is of course magnificent, however the movie itself honestly doesn't serve much of a purpose.

The fact that this movie is lackluster stems from the inherent problem that it tries to condense a roughly one hundred chapter arc into about two hours. Of course this leads to a LOT of editing, so if you've never seen/read the Alabasta arc you will be confused for most of this movie. This would suggest that the movie's intended audience would be those who already have an idea of what's going on, however so much ...

Mixed Feelings
Plot 6/10

Episode of Alabasta was pretty much a whole recap of the Alabasta Arc. Few short scenes added, but lots of them were cut out [where’s my goddamn mizu luffy] but mainly nothing more happened. I’d say going from scene to scene was too chaotic, you could get lost

Characters 5/10

Because of a really fast pacing they weren’t really developed, if you weren’t familiar with characters before, you could have a problem. Unfortunately, creators didn’t even spend 5 minutes for character introduction like they did in movie 6. I think that was the weak part of it. Of course, I’m judging it how a not-too-familiar-with-series person ...

I saw the relatively low score on this site and was puzzled. i soon realised upon watching, this is a train wreck of a movie that has little resemblance to the Arabasta arc.

There are two huge problems with this movie. The first, the lesser ...
