This is a list of anime adapted from manga in the Hana to Yume magazine. I'm only including first seasons. Reboots and adaptations of sequel mangas are counted as separate adaptations.   Before the likes of Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon conquering the kids in the west, it was actually Akira that opened the door and made people realize that the cartoons coming from Japan weren't what you would expect from Disney or your TV channels.   Mostly includes OVAs and Movies.   pre 2000s shoujo ^_^ trying to highlight some more obscure stuff  some lesser known ova adaptations of shoujo + josei manga, I only included OVAs that are around 1-6 eps, so if they got full anime adaptations later I didn't include them.   Takeyuki Kanda was an anime director for Sunrise who was known for directing Vifam, The Ultraman anime, Kiko Senki Dragonar and the first six episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. He was a close friend and coworker of Ryosuke Takahashi. |
