New Interest Stack
Interest Stacks░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ "Elitist" has been a very generic and broad term to generalise many types of not-so-mainstream or "deep" anime, so this list is very diverse and it's criteria are not always clear cut and objective. Nonetheless I try to provide a proper explanation for why each entry is included. Generally speaking these are shows that fit one OR more of these adjectives: Experimental, Avant-Garde, Psychological, Philosophical, Obscure, Classic, Critically Acclaimed, Artsy, Old, etc... Animes starring anthropomorphic animals. List of anime for "elitist". These anime have been considered as "deep" animations by various critics and analysts. Art house, in relation to cinema, is a genre of films that are intended to be serious artistic works rather than merely popular entertainment but the descriptor can also be applied to anime. Furthermore, avant-garde refers to innovative, experimental, radical or unorthodox concepts and techniques. This can of course also be used in reference to anime and manga. Featuring little to no dialogue and/or characters and the experience is carried by the music and/or visual atmosphere. Includes regular anime series, movies, experimental shorts, and even music videos. Anything that can be considered unique in either its art style or method of animation. Probably not every entry in this list will be suited to one's taste, but as we all know, art is subjective. This list includes arthouse/avantgarde anime movies, so that's anything over 50 minutes, for example: Angel's Egg, Mindgame, Belladonna of Sadness. It only includes anime (series & movies) with an obvious difference from the real world in terms of the aspect of the world. Just having some dragons/monsters/etc is not enough as long as there isn't anything special about the landscape. self-explanatory title, the anime in this list have uncommon themes, like pottery, microbes, and (why not?) designing every life form that God wants. either this, or they have an unusual setting; like, a surrealist world or even your body. no, really; it may not be yours, but the setting of the anime is, indeed, a human body! For those who like the "weird" types of anime In the dawn of the digital age, many creators have expressed their hopes and fears about technology and its influence on human society through science fiction anime, creating many interesting interepretations of what our future could be (or even what our present is) with regards to the ever accelerating integration of technology into our lives. It can be an anime about cats or just feature one cat. Also: not exactly a house cat but any kind of feline. DISCLAIMER placed anywhere on a scale from 'characters go through some mildly traumatic/mind-breaking stuff (and there's potentially also gore)' to 'evangelion child soldier-esque mess', ranked from 1-5 accordingly. this list is mostly for my own reference but feel free to use it if u also just love. seeing psychological torment i guess ?????? things to be watched are at the bottom and will be updated accordingly, most have been added due to suggestions from other people As the title says, I created a stack called "Avant Garde and the Weirdest Box", and some weird Anime was not listed in it, so they will be listed here. Of course, there will also be Avant Garde anime that are not popular or not known by many people. This is a list of the Most Unique Anime at least for the time it came out. Anime that tells a story in a completely new way or popularizes a gene or theme are more likely to be featured. This list has an extra preference for anime with strange plot and unsettling elements, including anything considered edgie. Plot and Message are valued highly, especially is expressed in a completely new way. Anime that is commentary on a gene or trope are also preferred on list. Commonly features stories that are dark or cruel in nature, but there are plenty of anime on the list that are not. |
