New Interest Stack
Interest StacksAdult Swim (stylized as [adult swim] or abbreviated as [as]) is an American timeshare cable television network bundled with Cartoon Network. The programs featured on Adult Swim are geared toward teens and young adults. Broadcast since 2001, much of the network's general content is known for its risqué, unorthodox and often bizarre presentation, while many of the series' features are developed in stark contrast with traditional American television programs. The block features stylistically varied animated and live-action shows including original programming, syndicated shows and Japanese anime, generally with minimal or no editing for content. Anime Unleashed was an anime block that was broadcast on the American cable TV network G4. Anime Current is its Canadian counterpart. The block is notable for having a unique catalog of sci-fi anime including popular titles such as Serial Experiments Lain and rather obscure titles such as Betterman. In my opinion, this is one of the strangest but also coolest block of anime to air on American TVs. This stack is a collection of anime that are either set during winter or convey winter vibes (for example are set in a cold region with snow/ice). Every animated media that has been made has the idea to tell a story and to express a feeling on the watcher. But then, there are some series which has a particular way to evocate their sentiments and they use different tools to do that. Thought provoking writing, displaying the characters' internal monologues, their struggles and fears, using particular cinematographic angles and by blending contrasting styles of animation, coloring and highly symbolical and metaphorical imagery - these are some of the many hallmarks signifying the said animation has psychological themes, and that it is avant-garde in it's approach. This method of expression is not limited to any genre, as well. English dubs that I found to be really good and are at least comparable to (if not better than) their subbed counterparts. Part 1 - https://myanimelist.net/stacks/885 Melancholy, sadness, nostalgia, and sorrow, are mixed up with surreal colors and beautiful animation. Important! Do not read below this line, if you do not want to know what's common among the series. Other than that, there are no spoilers. While many of the best anime series are based on popular manga, some of them are entirely original. Believe it or not, some of the best anime have nothing to do with manga at all, and some even got a manga adaptation after they were aired or while they were in production. Compiled here are non-manga-based anime that you need to add to your watchlist as soon as possible. Some of them are classics that you might have watched and re-watched many times before, while others are a bit more unknown. Anime series not so well known for their titles, some not necessarily underestimated, but easy to go unnoticed in the community. "Anime was a mistake. But these ones that KoriGoji recommended are pretty good" - Hayao Miyazaki. Yeah, a lot of my favourites aren't on here because they're cheap thrills, but this ain't about that! Are human protagonists really all that interesting, or do others deserve more recognition for being as equally and in some cases more alluring than humans? A list of Anime in which I found the work of the german voice actors/actresses on par or even better than the original japanese dubbed version. Anime with OST's that will make you shout, sob or even make you doubt your existence... |
