Interest StacksI remember going to the video store, browsing the shelves, and picking out a movie based on the box art alone. I'd look at the front, I'd look at the back, and more often than not I'd put it back on the shelf. Occasionally there'd be something like Ghost in the Shell or Ninja Scroll, and I knew I just had to rent it, or more accurately get my parents to rent it. Original list: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/15827 Before the likes of Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon conquering the kids in the west, it was actually Akira that opened the door and made people realize that the cartoons coming from Japan weren't what you would expect from Disney or your TV channels. Anime released on VHS by Manga Entertainment/Manga Video in the UK. If you have any additions or corrections let me know. Part 2: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/36724 Every cinema or direct to video anime film that came out in 1991. *EN* I’m using the term “horror” very loosely so anything that is disturbing/creepy or aims to be counts. Rumiko Takahashi is a Japanese manga artist. With a career of several commercially successful works, beginning with Urusei Yatsura in 1978, she is one of Japan's best-known and wealthiest manga artists. Her works are popular worldwide, where they have been translated into a variety of languages, with over 200 million copies in circulation; making Takahashi one of the best-selling authors of all time. Rumiko Takahashi, The Manga Queen, is a Mangaka born in 1957 that in 1978 started her career in the pages of Weekly Shounen Sunday, and it's been a constant succes from then. Since there has been too much series from then people tends to don't know what to watch first, and how to watch it. |
