Being purely evil or purely good is a misconception. You never know, but there are times someone has to sacrifice their good to become the villain. We always have some good and bad in us. So bad guys can have a conscience too.

This stack is dedicated to anime that talk about unusual or downright fantastic schools that prepare characters for either fantastic professions and goals, or to become a super specialist in real-life fields. For example, the Gundam school in The Witch from Mercury or the school of the best chefs in the world in Shokugeki no Souma.
Separately, I want to make a reservation that I deliberately did not include magic schools, since this subgenre is so wide that it deserves a separate stack.

The yuri anime genre unfortunately has a reputation for creating relationships between female characters that are incredibly ambiguous. This is a list of anime in which the romantic/sexual relationship between the two girls is very clear (and not one-sided). The girls in question should be major characters and their relationship should be one of if not the biggest driving point(s) of the show. No hentai titles, as adding even one would get the whole list marked nsfw. Some representation on this list is better than others, and I have provided an opinion under each title.

And no, Gushing over Magical girls is not on here. I do not feel comfortable recommending it to anyone.

This is a stack of Anime which each have a Main Cast of Only 2 Females, no more, no less, and no males will be in these Main Casts.

There are a couple of GL shows in this stack, but the majority of these shows won't be.

A common type of romantic pairing you’ve probably seen many times before.

One character doesn’t express a lot of emotion. She’s hard to get to know. She doesn’t seem to want others getting close to her. She may be aloof. She may be socially awkward. She may be very logical with little understanding and/or regard for emotions. She is usually introverted. In some cases, she can knock sense into the other girl’s head if she is acting on her emotions without thinking. In some cases, she hides her romantic feelings from the other girl, thinking there is no way they could be returned. Her hair is typically either dark (either black, or a dark shade of blue or purple), white, silver, or a “cold” colour. She is the “ice”.

The other character may wear her heart on her sleeve. She is warm and friendly. She is sometimes an airhead. She is easy to talk to. She is often the one making others smile. She may be considered by her love interest to be “too kind and innocent for this world”. She brings happiness to the other girl’s world. When the other girl tells her her feelings, expecting rejection, she tells her she feels the same way. She may represent “hope”. She is often extroverted. Her hair is usually blond, pink, or a bright “warm” colour. She is the “fire”.

Together, they are “Fire x Ice”.
