- D.Gray-man: Episodes 3, 4 and 5 of the D.Gray-man anime are set in nineteenth-century Matera. Other minor references along the way.
- Ristorante Paradiso: The story is set in a restaurant in Rome.
- La Storia della Arcana Famiglia: The show has an Italian title, also almost every character have Italian words as their names. The setting is clearly inspired by Italy.
- Campione!: The blonde main character is Italian and some parts of the anime are located in Sardinia.
- Arte: Set in Renaissance Florence.
- Aria The Animation: The anime is set in Neo Venice, a faithful replication of Venice.
