These are the anime that appear in Super Robot Wars Z for PlayStation 2.
Like Super Robot Wars W, this is considered one of the best written games in the franchise.

These are the anime that appear in Super Robot Wars X-Ω, a mobile phone game that is now defunct.

Anime that are heavily overlooked on MAL (at the time of writing, under 20k members). Most, if not all of them are also underrated. Will likely add stuff in the future as I watch them.

These are old anime on Crunchyroll, at least as far as MAL identifies them. The stack is ordered newest to oldest.

I started with the oldest anime on MAL: Winter 1917 (hard to believe but there are actually two entries). I scanned through the seasons and years, looking for anime with the Crunchyroll logo and stacked them here. The oldest is Lupin III from Fall 1971. I stopped stacking after Fall 1989. Sadly, it appears the link from the CR icon to the series on CR is broken. The links for HIDIVE and Funimation seem to work.

As to accuracy or completeness, there are no guarantees either way. MAL could be mistaken about a show being on CR and conversely, there are anime on CR that MAL doesn't flag. On top of that, the shows licensed by CR change over time so this stack will go out of date and I don't have firm plans to maintain it.

In passing, I noticed a few things:
-- there are no MAL entries for Fall 1918 through Summer 1926.
-- there are no MAL entries for Summer 1945 through Spring 1947
-- the first multi-season series was "Instant History" in Spring 1961
-- prior to Spring 1961, there were many seasons with no anime; after Spring 1961, there was at least one show each season

And here's something else I just discovered: click on the Anime menu on the left of the main menu bar, then click on Anime Search. Not only will you get a search box, you'll also see a bunch of links that will take you to lists of MAL entries based on the link title. The lists can be sorted by Title, Score, Start Date, and Members. In the Anime Seasons group, click the View More link to get the list of seasons going back to 1917. I'm impressed, MAL.

I don't have a good reason for doing this. I just thought it would be interesting.

Before Gundam became a heavyweight franchise in 1985, there were several mecha anime in the early 80s that had more engaging, serialized stories and realistic, complicated characters and worldbuilding, but still shared a lot of similarities with 1970s mecha anime. This is a list of such mecha anime.

Mecha anime with darker/psychological themes that were made before Evangelion.

For the sake of including as much as I could, I've only listed one entry from each franchise/series (generally the first installment). Some entries have a manga that came out shortly before they premiered, but those aren't really adaptions since the production of the anime predates creation of the manga.

A lot of 70's mecha haven't been translated in english or only have bad bootleg/machine translations that makes them unwatchable. These are the ones that got intelligible fansubs (even if not perfect) or an oficial english release in the west. (only long-running TV Shows)
