Weird comedic action series based around pro wrestling.

both have great fights and likable character. Both franchises set a standard for modern Shonen. With Kinnikuman II Sei aka. Ultimate Muscle now upgrading the Kinnikuman franchise with the advancement of more modern shonen with transformation and auras that enhance the battle but don't take away what made it great. Dragon Ball Z is using transformation and overuse of energy attacks over what made the fights in original Dragon Ball special. However, it has its own unique identity.

Both have great over the top characters and both have a great deal of action and comedy. Both also fit into the shounen category.

Both shows have tournaments, and both have a group of villains. In Kinnikuman Nisei it's the dmP where as in MAR it's the Chess Pieces.

For better or worse both series are based on manga with gritty combat, however their anime adaptations contain a childish tone and reduced violence from its source material. If that doesn't bother you, then give these masculine shonens a try with Ultimate Muscle featuring zany superhero wrestling & Toriko displaying multiple super powers.

These wrestling anime were animated by Toei Animation, are sequels following the next generation of wrestlers and in my opinion share the same masculine spirit for the sport.
