Eat-Man

There is no better way to say it - Eat-man is a copy of Trigun. You have enigmatic main character whose backstory is slowly discovered. Setting is somewhat futuristic world of wild west feel. Both are old style sci-fi stories and even the animation look very similar. However Trigun is definitely the better of the two. 

This is a pretty one-sided recommendation -- to put it bluntly, Eat-Man is a very poor man's Trigun, and I would not recommend watching it (as it's mostly quite dull). If you did enjoy it, or want to see a show that takes on similar concepts with much better execution, then by all means watch Trigun. Ironically, Eat-Man goes for a more serious tone than Trigun, but can occasionally be very unintentionally funny. Essentially, you feel like you're laughing at it, while Trigun is a very good show to laugh with (although it also has very serious moments and knows how to handle them). Both have an episodic format with a bit of story progression/world development over time (Trigun's are again handled much better). Both protagonists have similar styles of armament (Trigun handles this with very gradual progression, Eat-Man's is a bit more varied), and both end up taking on odd jobs or trying to help out people. read more
