Mecha Robot Corps 3

Ah… Mecha Robot Corps 3…That really brings me back. This is a series of explosive combat mecha anime that shaped who i am today. It was become the essence of my soul, and this review serves to pay homage to the creators of this series that made me who i am today. But before we address this movie, we must first explore the series as a whole.

Flashback to the 40’s. I was a wee young lad crawling around my grandmother's apartment in a war-stricken, soviet reigned Poland. We were at war, and things didn't seem all that good.Those days were filled with the creeping paranoia ... of an invasion as the Axis powers drew closer and closer to my city. The only highlight of my days - a ray of hope - was the “Mecha Robot Corps” series. Each and every day, id crawl out from under my paper-thin blanket, and turn on my old 360p black and white television, (which were state of the art back in the 40’s). On the tv, there were daily reruns of the entire Mecha Robot Corps saga. Each entry in the series was a titan in the movie world. I was starstruck by every single scene in the movies. The first movie (Mecha Robot Corps 1) was a dramatic masterpiece. I was gripped by the intense emotion radiating from the protagonists - mikey and Draken-kun. Those two boys were brothers who grew up in the tokyo manji gang in the middle of Shibuya, tokyo. They piloted mechs that rode on huge ballistic motorbikes and made sure no other gangs would mess with them, and try take over their turf. Each day, they would drink “Mean” a drink made of 7 sprite , sour patch kids and antifreeze to give them hallucinogenic properties. Nevertheless, the story followed the two boys growing from boys into men, and overcoming many obstacles, and the execution of which brought me to tears. Every. Single Time.

Now, with the sequel known as “Mecha Robot Corps 2,” i didnt think the first movie could be topped. But you guys have no idea how wrong i was. Mecha Robot Corps 2 primarily focused on a romance plot between the characters. We had Kaneki Uchiha - a boy from the slums whos only goal in life was to become the HoodKage, and his high school crush MeiMei. Meimei was so pretty and cute and amazing. She had huge boobies for a high school girl and anytime i saw her on screen id lick it, and my tongue would sting from the static. Sorry… i got carried away… lets get back to the review.
Through the movie, we see their friendship blossom into a loving and caring relationship. The love confession scene at the end actually made my 5 year old self cry. It made me the man i am today. Honestly, the first time i saw that movie was the day i unlocked emotions for the first time. I spawned in this world as a cold emotionless aura being, but after watching Mecha Robot Corps 2 for the first time, i became… Human.

Now, for the best movie of them all, “Mecha Robot Corps 3.” This movie… where do i begin. Set in an alternate universe, it tells the story of Luffy Uzumaki, who grew up as an outcast in the hustling and bustling Shibuya Hood Village. He was a bastard child, who never met his parents. His mother was a prostitute and his father was Mikey from the first movie but he never met him because he was tossed out the second he was born. Instead, he was raised by rats in a poverty stricken corner of the city. I saw myself in Luffy Uzumaki, because just like him id suffer every day. I was a starving kid in the middle of a huge city in ruins, scared that id get bombed. Luffy suffered every day because he had to eat rats to survive and he was scared he’d get rabies. ANyway luffy became the hero of the gang world and so i want to be like him.

“In all our lives, there is a fall from innocence, a time we will never be the same again.” — Stephen King.
Back in my early teenage years, I would have thought nothing of that quote, but now, it’s different. Every few days, I would read this quote and break down in tears. Matter of fact, I’m crying right now. The reason I started with a Stephen King quote is to start my Robot Mecha Corps 3.
Well, I don’t know how to put this, but I feel like this is the very movie that made my innocence fall. I’m not talking about anything explicit, but at ... a much more spiritual level. I was 15, going on 16, when my parents died in that freak car accident. The day I describe as “THE DAY.”
My father always watched Robot Mecha Corps 3 with me, and it was pretty much the only thing I connected with him over. We were opposites, and I know they say “opposites attract,” but in this situation, it was way different. I was outgoing, convivial, and super athletic; he was a bit of a geeky, nerdy weirdo introvert, always inside, working on his anti-gravity boots all day, every day. It’s pretty funny because he had a very accurate blueprint finished just before he died and was working on his prototype.
He was a good man, but not so good a father. My mother was always the slightly better parent. When they died, it was so hard on me. They’re the people who used to give me all my money, so when they died, I had to fend for myself. I mean, I have grandparents, but I would never talk to those types of people. Their old-ass brains are too melted for me. You guys can probably agree. My sister died too, but I won’t get into that; she was way too fat to even call being alive in the first place.
Back when we were a big, happy family, occasionally I would sit down with my father and watch Robot Mecha Corps 3. We were both so immersed in this trip of a movie. I genuinely feel like this movie is how black tar heroin would feel. I was hooked. My mother would say to this day (if she were still alive, of course—haha), that was your worst addiction. Which means a lot, if you don’t know me. I had a chronic drug and animal-killing addiction. I had to go to rehab for 6 months for it, and I’m still on pills to this day for it.
As much as I am obsessed with Robot Mecha Corps 3, I don’t know much about the Solar I.II.III. universe. The movie is about a group of teenagers who have to save the universe, coming back to the Stephen King quote. I feel they are so innocent at the start of the movie, and by the end of the 1-hour, 2-minute movie, I feel like their innocence is stripped from them.
They were about my age when I first watched the movie with my dad, who was kind of a nerd. This particular scene is the one that really stuck with me. I still remember making my sister leave the room every time we watched it, just because she would sit there chewing food in my ear like an elephant.
Last night, something strange happened... I had the craziest dream about my dad. For some context, I wrote this review yesterday, and I feel like my dad came to me in my sleep because of the deep spiritual connection I have with this show and how it links to him. In the dream, he got right up in my face, looking upset for some reason, and started talking about how I need to put respect on his name. It was wild. He insisted he wasn’t a nerd, saying he was only trying to protect me. He didn’t want me to turn out like my sister, mentioning he learned something important with her.
I responded, 'It's too late, Father, too late.' And honestly, I don’t even know why I said that. I hate to say this, and it breaks my heart but was I suggesting I'm already like my sister? I don’t want to be associated with my sister in any way, and the very thought of sharing the same blood makes me want to throw up. I feel sick just thinking about it… In fact, I just got sick. My sister reminds me of the Barron from the Dune films if anyone watched them. I remember talking about this in an older review I did on this site but, After my parent's death, my sister became way bigger than she already was guess it was her way of grieving she couldn't even fit through a doorway in my house. I had to hire people to come over and break the roof of my house and lift her out with a crane. Probably part of the reason why I didn't grieve for her at all. The best thing to come from that situation is the fact I was able to make a coffin with the part of the broken roof imagine if I had to buy a coffin that big. Would have cost be thousands.
