The Tokyo Anime Awards started in 2002, but was named in 2005. The first, second and third award ceremonies were simply named 'Competition'. The award ceremonies were held at the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) until 2013. In 2014, after the merger of the Tokyo International Anime Fair with the Anime Contents Expo and the formation of the AnimeJapan convention, the Tokyo Anime Awards was changed into a separate festival called Tokyo Anime Awards Festival (TAAF). ![]() ![]() These anime all portray historically detailed and accurate tales set during or relating to the Second World War. While some are purely fictional, others are autobiographical in nature. In addition, all of these films give great insight into the Japanese perspective on the war and the bombings which have ever since traumatized the nation. ![]() ![]() Anime that depict the life of people during World War 2 and its consequences. List may be incomplete since it only contains series that I'm currently aware of. ![]() ![]() This list contains all movies that aren't related with any anime series. (Pre 2014) ![]() ![]() These are the family based films and films can be watched together with your family. Who said your parents and sibling can't watch anime? Of course, they can too. As long it's decent XD Jokes aside, here is my collection of animes films that your family might enjoy too. ![]() ![]() This is the kind of stuff you'll want to show to your older relatives or a friend / significant other who isn't into anime in particular but is open to new experiences. Not necessarily to hook them on anime but simply to share a good time together. ![]() ![]() A Comprehensive and Chronological List of Japanese Animated works that have been nominated for an Academy Award. ![]() ![]() A selection of 21st century anime series featuring characters who are adults. From ordinary office workers to traveling peddlers to superheroes, adult protagonists can have a variety of life experiences and many different ways of living. Young emerging adults may still be trying to find their path in life, while established older folks are more likely to have mastered the art of adulting - or at least learned enough to muddle by. Some adults become jaded over time from repeated exposure to the reality that life is often painful, depressing, and unfair. Others retain a more positive outlook by focusing on their dreams for the future or take a more pragmatic approach by putting all their efforts into improving their lives here and now. ![]() ![]() Each of the following are one of the most popular anime set in or heavily inspired by an associated Japanese prefecture. They are ordered from Hokkaido to Okinawa (roughly north to south). ![]() ![]() Some romantic anime which may have an unexpected or emotional scene to it that may make you want to cry or feel empty inside. Keep in mind some of these entries only have a little romantic subtext. This list includes no side stories. ![]() ![]() This title captures the essence of the list, emphasizing the exploration of human emotions, relationships, and personal growth that these anime series offer. It highlights the profound impact these shows can have on viewers by tugging at their heartstrings and taking them on emotional journeys through captivating narratives. |
