Horror + Gorry-ness + Horny Bastard Monsters (geez) + Yuri (not as explicit as how it was shown in Mnemosyne but at least its obviously hinted there: the main character is so gaay for her roommate I say) = >:D

Both involve a beautiful woman that can transform into a bloodthirsty superhuman being recruited by the government to fight people with similar powers that have gone mad, and the ending plot twist is similar for each.

The tone is grim. The main characters find out they have superpowers. They become embroiled in plots and hidden politics among forces they never dreamed existed.

Both shows have a similar feel and theme - a dark story of humans turning into monsters. They both have nice animation and both shows get better as they get further in.

Both are heavily character-driven, dealing with conflicts in choice (or lack thereof) and how the characters manage to deal with them.

Both are fantasy action with a kind of dark, muted feeling and atmosphere. Mostly episodic as well, with decently interesting protagonists.

In both shows there is an organization that is trying to control "non-humans".
