Interest StacksAlthough none of these anime have a tag/theme that denotes them as psychological, they all use cinematographic tactics often seen in psychological media to explore different aspects of the human condition and tackle atypical and philosophical topics. Animes that have art, animation, music, etc that is not commonly found in anime. Includes regular anime series, movies, experimental shorts, and even music videos. Anything that can be considered unique in either its art style or method of animation. Probably not every entry in this list will be suited to one's taste, but as we all know, art is subjective. Masaaki Yuasa is known for his crazy, experimental anime. I personally am a fan and as such I decided to compile them together in one place. I decided to only include the stuff he directed so nothing of the shows he animated and storyboards only. A compilation of anime that began airing during the month of May. Masaaki Yuasa is a very experimental and often surreal creator and a personal favourite. I put together a list of anime he directed. LITERALLY kino...... do not even question the kino bro >:( Lace up your boots, get your spandex tights and step in the ring with these anime about Professional Wrestling! When I say visually insane, I'm not talking about anime with high quality animation, I'm talking about the ones that have chaotic, psychodelic, stylized, experimental and overall unusual styles. Masaaki Yuasa is a Japanese director, screenwriter, and animator affiliated with Science SARU, a Japanese animation studio which he co-founded with producer Eunyoung Choi in 2013. Yuasa previously served as president of Science SARU, but stepped down from this role in 2020. Recognized for his idiosyncratic art style and directorial voice, Yuasa began his career as an animator working on a variety of anime before turning to directing with the feature film Mind Game (2004), which gained a cult following. |
