Girls with guns is a subgenre of action films and animation that portray a female protagonist engaged in shootouts. The genre typically involves gun-play, stunts and martial arts action.The "girls-with-guns" subgenre has also permeated the anime space.

A collection of anime that share the premise that fantasy-style goings on are happening in our world. I'm including both "masquerade" entries (where the bulk of the world is supposed to be ignorant of the supernatural) and ones where it's theoretically integrated but the world still closely resembles our own. I am NOT including pure "horror" affairs or other notable subgenres like Magical Girl. To qualify, an item must do some depiction of its "normal" world and establish it as "normal", as well as having elements that are supernatural or otherwise speculative.
