Though the plots and story line are completely different, the main characters seem to have similarities. First off, Ciel and Ritsuka are both 12. Though they have different voice actors, their voices sound extremely similar. They're both stubborn and have snarky attitudes throughout the series. They have also both lost something precious to them. Ciel his family, and Ritsuka his older brother. Both lost their relatives due to fires. (in Loveless, this is directed via anime, as to where the manga tells otherwise about his brother's 'status'.) Soubi and Sebastian are similar as well. Both have extrodinary powers and call the main characters their 'masters'. They are  read more

The first episode of both series are similar to each other; they both have hand-grabbing and kissing between the two guys that must be bonded. This is probably due to the fact that the same people who worked on Loveless are working on Monochrome factor too.

Both are sweet boy's love stories.

Well, they're both BL, but Loveless has less than Junjou. Anyway, I enjoyed them both, so other people might do too ^^

Both have/are: Pretty art/pretty boys Supernatural Fights that involve spells Only one girl plays a more or less central role Descrete shounen-ai Lonely central character with someone willing to sacrifice himself for him Way sentimental and dramatic Manga adaptation

Both heros deal with loneliness, a new in which he gets engulfed against his will, and above all, whether or not to form a bond with someone else. Ritsuka's more frail than Miharu in his mind, but he finds mental support in Soubi. Miharu on the contrary, reaches a new confidence in himself and in others upon meeting Yoite, who wants to run away from attachment even more than Miharu. Beyond the shounen-ai are stories about meeting our soul mate.

Loveless and Descendants of Darkness deal with supernatural battles that drag the characters into bitter confrontations. Dark and mysterious pasts are another common factor, as is the occasionally dark tone that both series contain. While they shy from being graphic, much is implied, leading to many a painful revelation. Loveless qualifies as shounen-ai and DoD has enough boys' love content to be highly slashable.

Although Loveless falls under yaoi, they both have the same atmosphere and somewhat similar [supernatural] plots. Follow the protagonists in their quest for the truth and watch the [snail-paced] progressions they make as they slowly open themselves up to new people and battle their worst enemy; themselves. What dark secrets lurk behind their questionable pasts? Will [reasonable] doubts and fear control their present? Not everything is what it might seem. And sometimes, the truth isn't what you expect it to be. Does curiosity lead them towards it regardless? Or, is it better to look the other way? Warning: Both have cliff endings with no clear direction and you  read more

they both include figuring out what happened to their brother, and about destiny and fate and stuff

Has the same concept of "A person/being fighting for another person." Loveless is more towards the Josei genre, and tends to be more psychological. Also, you don't have big booty bitches jumping around. Loveless has homosexual pairings.

They're both light shonen ai where the bond between characters is very important, but isn't the main conflict of the story.

Both are shounen-ai animes and nice to watch. Both have so much depth in emotions. Loveless has more action, fighting etc...and a feeling of mystry in it (and a kind of sadness). Loveless and gakuen are very touching animes... especially loveless (....so full of love).

Both Earthian and Loveless stories are from the wonderful mangaka Kouga Yun. Both are unique and beautiful and portray an image of somewhat melancholic romantic relationships between boys. Other than that, the stories are completely different, but are both worth watching (and especially reading, since the anime shows only a portion of the whole story in both cases).

Loveless has a darker feel to in than Junjou and is much heavier. The amount of BL is in Loveless is a lot less than Junjou but you still get a few kisses. Both stories are cute with an 'over protective' seme, and small 'innocent' uke.

If you could make it with the boy to boy love in lovless, then you could maybe enjoy this anime...

The storylines don't have much in common. Maybe sounds weird, but those two animes DO have other things in common: the fighter - sacrifice thingy. Both animes have a fighter and a sacrifice (medium). Their power is halved when their medium/sacrifice isn't with the fighter in both animes. Both animes have "Master-servant" signs. In Rozen Maiden is it the ring with the rose, and in Loveless it is the name on their bodies. - Supernatural battles against other dolls/other pairings - both action and drama genre Jun-kun's and Ritsuka's personality have some things in common: They both act a little bit agressive some times. Ritsuka skips school sometimes like Jun They both have  read more

Both are lgbt, and realistic than most gay animes out there. It has it's ups and downs. Both are worth watching, you will not regret it.

-Both involve romance of the same genre, and have also a love triangle because of a person of different gender. -Both have cool fights. But Loveless is Shounen-ai (Yaoi) and Kannazuki no Miko is Shoujo-ai (Yuri)

Shounen ai. Both of them. Doukyuusei is way underrated. Oh but if you watched loveless for just the backstory of ritsuka and stuff not for the love then...uh...sorry

These anime are VASTLY different in many ways, but both carry the theme of amnesia and the fear of the 'old self' taking over from the 'new self', following the time that the amnesia began (this is a really big theme in Golden Time).

First off, they have similar atmospheres. Also, both center around a character forced into a strange form of combat, and both involve many unconventional relationships (romantic, sexual, and otherwise).

*bl *relationship between two of a considerable age gap *both protagonists are snarky and cold to their significant other *both open up and become more caring sociable through the series

Loveless and Angel's Feather take a dramatic approach to shounen-ai mixed with magic. Both Angel's Feather and Loveless include supernatural battles and a growing romantic relationship between male characters. A very vibrant and elegant design pervades these anime as does the occasional feeling of fragmentation that makes one feel that the whole story is about to begin exactly when it comes to an end.

Both have servants that only they control and both wage war with each other.

The atmosphere in both animes isn't very much alike, but they do have some stuff in common. First of all, a young, pretty character having cat-like ears with lost memories suddenly coming into a relationship with a handsome stranger. They both focus on relatioships, their hardships and, most of all, looking for the only one person to love. This is often mentioned in these two series. They are both very touching, funny at times and romantic.

Though Loveless is arguably rather shounen-ai, both anime involve similar battle systems in that a pair is required to fight to maximize their chance of success, and that one part of the pair fights while the other provides power. Both anime also involve a shady organization that the main protagonists fight against.

They both have a person who transform into a weapon for the other, it is use in time of battle. Also they both have a love theme, while Loveless have a minor yaoi theme, Elemental Gelade have a boy who crush on a girl. Enemies of the protagonist also have the same powers, human to weapon, in both animes.

They are VERY different plot wise. Loveless is a boys love anime and blackcat is a dark action shounen and NOT a boys love anime. But they both have cat characters and a similar dark atmosphere.

As for me, Souichi and Soubi resemble each other + we have boy-and-boy love in both cases. However, Koi Suru Boukun is a more "adult" variant.
report Recommended by Arrvilja
The plot is similar - a lot of questions, supernatural battles. And in Pandora is a similar relation, between Gilbert (the servant) and Oz (tha master) to the relationship between Soubi and Ritsuka.

Both shounen-ai and supernatural. Both have older guy going for younger one.
