Both are set in the samurai era have a lot of over the top gore and violence. Only difference is that makai tensho has dark fantasy, while black lion mixes in sci-fi and space opera.

both are simple guilty pleasure shows with a high amount of sex and violence

the simmilarity lies in the animation, especially the male face drawings, and both takes place in the ( fictional) tokugawa era by storyline , puppet princess is more enjoyable though!

Both involve samurai, ninja, fantasy, gore and demons. It's also worth mentioning that ken ishikawa [the creator of kyomu senshi miroku] also did a manga adaption of makai tensho.

Way better than this one. Story isn't as complete, but action and animation are better.

Half of the female characters in Hyakka Ryouran are named after the characters from Makai Tensho [and the characters from Makai Tensho were real-life samurai who actually existed]. And both Hyakka Ryouran and Makai Tensho are about Amakusa Shiro being resurrected.

It have a little touch of the gore and its also a kind of feudal times in Japan. Kind of the samurai type that just likes to kill
