Both have a crazy gainax inspired flare that is shown off in the extravagant fights and flashy characters

Both anime are action based in a school setting. Also, they both require the main character to undergo some sort of training in order to get stronger to be able to protect those close to them :)

They both introduce themselves as low stakes stories with their own comedic gimmicks, but that's soon given way to somethin akin to a proper shounen battle series, complete with dramatic stakes, mysteries to uncover, and even proper power systems.

They are both martial arts fighting animes.

Both anime have really strong people in school settings and have special powers. Though Beelzebub starts off with just delinquent fighting, it picks up into a super power type of anime. Both anime are based on action.

Girge is very much similar to Kumagawa, and both of these shows focus on battles, rather than plot.
