New Interest Stack
Interest StacksA Comprehensive and Chronological List of Japanese Animated works that have been nominated for an Academy Award. Do you want to watch anime so artsy that will either relate to the deepest part of your soul or completely confuse you? Includes regular anime series, movies, experimental shorts, and even music videos. Anything that can be considered unique in either its art style or method of animation. Probably not every entry in this list will be suited to one's taste, but as we all know, art is subjective. In 2006, the Japan Media Arts Festival held a special 10th anniversary awards festival for manga, anime, art and entertainment. For manga and anime, the rankings were split into a popularity poll (general public vote), and a 'professionals' ranking (critics, directors, etc.). The only 3 series in the 'professionals' ranking for both manga and anime were 'Astro Boy', 'Doraemon', and 'AKIRA'. These are the best works anime can offer. Probally not the best, nor my favorite As the title says, I created a stack called "Avant Garde and the Weirdest Box", and some weird Anime was not listed in it, so they will be listed here. Of course, there will also be Avant Garde anime that are not popular or not known by many people. This is a compilation of Avante-Garde shorts that are unique, mind-blowing and addicting. These will give you a different POV on the world of animation. List of Anime Movies with Short Duration (Less than 1 Hour) The following list is more assumption than actual knowledge, since I don't have access to the books, etc. Anime series that covers all of the original source they're based on, with some notes. There is no duration limit. hailing around the era of the ussr, alot of animaters started started pumping out extremely esoteric, avante gaarde animation. this stack serves as an accessable guide to japanese productions that, in music and visuals seek to mimic that era. examples that i can include for short comparison: fantastic planet(its french but has clear czechoslovakian influence), Steamed Hams but it was banned in the USSR(no seriously), and any andrey khrzhanovsky film. Feeling adventurous? Want something quick to watch? This is a list of all the MOSTLY one-off animations I've seen. These range from the very strange, to the extremely pleasant and satisfying. |
