GetBackers

This is gonna be a very short review because I don't have a whole lot to say about this show. It's not bad at all, in fact I do like it and I think this show has so much potential to be really good. I like the characters and I really like the concept of this show. The story of two random friends getting things back for other people and they both have superpowers is a very fun idea. You could do a lot of creative things with that. And I think they do but at the same time I can't help but feel like ... it could've been so much more.

The best episodes in this show are the individual ones that have one storyline that start and end in that episode. For example, there was one episode that focused on the GetBackers trying to get this guy's memories back. And this episode is really great. If you ask me, I think this very episodic structure should've been the way to go. If they had cut this show down to 26 episodes and shortened the long story arcs, I think it would come out a lot better. But as it stands, I still like it. I do feel like some potential was wasted but again, I think it's pretty good even if I think it could've been better.

This anime is a little old so some of it’s part may not be as good as new shows. Indeed, it begins slowly and is full of introductions but gets better as we progress along the way. Nevertheless, there are still some points that could be better.

Well, the story is all right after everything. Some of them need to be shorter, especially at the start. It is a tale for the youth; there are also several humorous, paranormal and action episodes in it. But it’s rather shallow and not very serious. Sometimes the tone changes too much, and it can be confusing.

From episode 25, the ... show loses much of its connection to the main plot. But the ending is good. I didn’t understand some things and had to look them up after they happened. The show is well animated for its age, but not the same as more contemporary ones. The sound is tolerable enough but the songs at start and end are not to my liking.

Characters are not that interesting. Although we learn much about them, they are too simple and obvious. Some of them always use the same words when they fight, and their enemies are not very clever. But I did begin to take a liking for the main characters, especially those working with Get Backers.

The show was not perfect but overall, it is worth watching. Slower parts and better story. And still it’s funny and interesting sometimes, the ending is nice enough.

I was obsessed with this anime when it came out. I made my dad get me the full season 1 box set on DVD, and I still have it. I even got the first volume of the manga, and I showed it to the other kids at school. Probably not a good idea because there was a lady jerking off in the first couple chapters.
I would rank this very low after watching many more shows since then. If you're a little teen that loves shonen & action this is going to be great. It's super cheesy, super Hammy, and very "cool". If you're an adult ... however &/or have watched better things, you are not going to find anything of value here.
The character designs stand out & most of them are likable tropes. The action is entertaining, but nothing to write home about. The plot is pretty standard & you can guess where things are going to go. At this point, if I recommend the show I always tag it with "it's so bad that it's good"
like I said pretty standard but there are a few things I will pop out and make you think "what the fuck."
when I whipped out the DVDs on my fiance, we watched it all the way through. *Spoilers* There's a part towards the end of S1 where they're fighting this guy In some illusion room. It looks like it's inside a stomach & the guy literally says "this is my womb" and then proceed with the monologue about his womb My fiance turned to me and said "wow your parents really just let you watch anything."
Do not recommend, not that great,but somewhat hilarious.
