While mostly known today as the character designer for My Hero Academia, Yoshihiko Umakoshi's recognition as one of anime's finest predates it by quite a lot. Getting his start as an animator at Toei Animation, Umakoshi was involved in some of Toei's biggest shoujo manga adaptations in the 90s, translating the shoujo aesthetic, with its quirks and all, onto the TV screen. This would culminate in Umakoshi's designs for Ojamajo Doremi, which sees his mastery of creating memorable characters, striking a fine balance between cute and cartoonish.

His versatility extends beyond cute characters, however—Umakoshi's involvement in now-iconic shows such as the first Berserk adaptation and Mushishi showcases his ability to design and appropriate serious-looking characters vastly different from his magical girl character designs. The following list is a selection of his most significant works.

PLEASE NOTE: I edit this occasionally and want to keep it alphabetized, so entries may jump around.

As the title says, any anime that includes this sort of romantic subplot. Not all of these are reciprocal or end happily. Only thing not counted is if both characters start off good but one turns evil via brainwashing.

This is just one of my favorite types of ships, although I don’t personally support all of these pairings. Please don’t take an entry’s inclusion as advocating. I’m not here to start ship wars. Just wanted to make a list of all instances I could think of in case anyone else is looking for recs.

List of spin-off anime entries belonging to the Saint Seiya franchise that are currently available on MyAnimeList, and that are not adaptations of the manga created by Masami Kurumada, the original author (in other words: they are not a part of the main storyline). This includes any remakes or reboots of the original story. That's why Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya (CGI series) is not included in this interest stack.

The list is arranged in the following way: main spin-off series are listed from the oldest to the newest; sequel seasons, if there are any, appear right under the first entry of the entry marking the first season of a certain spin-off series, regardless of whether these sequel seasons were released after or before other, but separate, spin-offs.

Saint Seiya manga series is written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1985 to 1990, with its chapters collected in 28 tankōbon volumes.

The manga was adapted by Toei Animation into a 114-episode anime television series which was broadcast on TV Asahi from 1986 to 1989. Saint Seiya was later continued with three original video animations released from 2002 to 2008. Four animated feature films premiered in Japanese theaters from 1987 to 1989, with a fifth in 2004 and a sixth in 2014.

The Saint Seiya manga had over 50 million copies in circulation as of 2022, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Both the original manga and the anime adaptation were successful internationally across Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Canal 5 is a Mexican free-to-air television network owned by TelevisaUnivision. It traces its origins to the foundation of Channel 5 in Mexico City in 1952 (also known by its identification code XHGC-TDT). Canal 5's program lineup is generally targeted at a younger audience and includes cartoons, foreign series and movies, along with a limited number of sporting events such as NFL games, boxing, the FIFA World Cup and, historically, the Olympic Games.

Canal 5 is mainly aimed at children and youth audiences, although in late hours it usually includes a more general concept with television series and reality shows. Over the decades among its programming, it includes many series purchased from networks such as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, among others; while the series aimed at the general public often come from Paramount Network, Fox Broadcasting Company, Warner Bros. (now known as Warner Bros. Discovery), Sony Group Corporation, ViacomCBS (now Paramount Global), MTV, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer among others. The channel also broadcasts series produced by the company TelevisaUnivision, which owns the channel. In programming, its main national competitor in open television has historically been Azteca 7 of TV Azteca.
