Both are about magical girls.

Magical girls fight against villains that have a similar motive, collecting human despair in order to fulfill their goals.

Both are more absurdist seasons that throw the zany at you nearly every episode. Five leads whose differing personalities playfully bounce off one another, colourful locations for some enjoyable battles, and antagonists that are just trying to do their best.

Doki Doki precure is also part of the precure franchise like smile precure. It has some likeable characters and has 4 faries. Although people may call it the worst precure season im honestly enjoying it a lot and if you finished smile precure and are looking for something else to watch, i think you should give doki doki precure a try.

Kids anime with a cute artstyle, made for little girls, extremely popular in Japan but barely known elsewhere. This recommendation is for the Precure franchise in general, not just Smile.

Both series were created by one of the largest anime studios in Japan, Toei Animation. Both series have kickass fighting scenes that will mistaken for a shounen anime like super transformation, rapid fire fisticuffs, flying kicks and energy beam attacks similar to Goku's Kamehameha. Both series were dubbed in English albeit by different dubbing studios (Funimation for Dragon Ball Z and Studiopolis/Saban Brands for Smile PreCure). Both feature an awesome elite fighting squad whose responsibilities are defending the world from evil forces that bring destruction. (Z Fighters for Dragon Ball Z and PreCure/Glitter Force for Smile PreCure/Glitter Force) Both have heartwarming and funny moments.

Tokyo ghoul and Smile Precure, at first glance, don't seem very similar, but if you look closely, the themes of both stories intertwine dramatically. The tales both take place in a school, where the main protagonist almost goes crazy protecting their loved ones. They want to protect their friends from the evil corrupting the world, but end up getting saved by their companions instead, learning the true meaning of friendship.

both series are magical girl series aimed towards kids ( mostly little girls ) with similar character design, main character and tone, the magical girl transformations are also pretty similar ( although you could argue that shining star is not a magical girl show but whatever )

Both are cheerful mahou-shoujo anime with bright visuals and epic battles. Smile Precure is fairytale-themed, while Show by Rock focuses on music. They even have the same soundtrack composer, giving both anime similar feelings.

Whenever the magical girl protagonists face the villains, the villains turn the surrounding area into a magical battlefield. The magic battlefield prevents civilians from being conscious and keeps the battles secret.

Both shows feature lighthearted yet epic stories about magical girls fighting evil forces. The female protagonists are empowering and treated with respect, and friendship is a major theme in both series. You can’t help but cheer for the girls as they overcome their despair and fight for their happy endings.

-Both anime have fairytale and folklore motifs -Both anime feature magical transformations to fight a monster of the week -Both anime have a heavy focus on telling and rewriting your own stories

Smile Precure and Princess Connect have strong female leads who fight against fantasy villains. Both anime are very feel-good, while still holding good plots.

-Mahou Shoujo Anime -Five 14 years old girl with pink, red, yellow, green, and blue as theme color. -Both blue control ice -Both from Toei Animation

Both are magical girl series and both have fairy tales as one of the themes.

Both are shows aimed at young girls, that feature a somewhat clumsy main character who starts out badly at what she does, but slowly gets better. They both have cute mascot fairies, and a land where these fairies live that the main characters visit. Both are super cute and will make you smile!

Very bright and colorful Magical Girl series that really can make people happy. Maybe Doremi is more childish, the heroines being younger and not having bad guys to fight, only dealing with minor life problems while in Precure there is really a danger of the world being controlled by an evil organization, and the girls have to fight putting their life on the line. So if you're a Precure fan you might not like Doremi too much, but I'm pretty sure that if you like Doremi you will love Smile Precure as well.

Both features good comedy sense and some great action scenes. As Smile Precure is aimed at lower age, so it's much more "cleaner" in the choice of comedy templates and of course it has the usual transformation sequences which some boys may not like. But beside these, there are a lot of good episodes, full of funny and sometimes heart warming moments. To some extent it's contents resemble shounen manga.

Fairy tale-based magical girl series.

Both have Magical Girls but Shugo Chara main character has 3 separate transformations while the girls in precure have only 1 outfit, also i feel Shugo Chara is for a slightly more mature audience since 1 or 2 eps deal with gender identity.

Both make me laugh, have cute and well-developed characters, and are awesome.

Lighthearted and highly popular mahou shoujo series that fans of both series will easily enjoy. It should be noted that Precure is focused more on a group of girls with magical powers rather than just one like in Cardcaptor Sakura. While occasionally dramatic, both shows are a lot of fun to watch and will have you laughing and falling in love with the characters all the while. Just don't be expecting any themes of love from Smile.

When I saw the first episode of Smile Precure i thought: this reminds me of Sailor Moon Why? -Mahou Shoujo Anime -Miyuki and Usagi are normal 14 year old girl who find a magical pet who tranform her in a magical girl -Miyuki and Usagi have to find the other magical girls for save the world -There are five girls with the same colors (Miyuki-Usagi, Ami-Reika, Rei-Akane, Makoto-Nao, Minako-Yaoi) -Both pink girl wear their hair in buns. -Both green girl are the tallest and wear a ponytail. -Both from Toei Animation

Both are magical girl anime with similar morals and cutesy art style. Fans of really any Precure or any magical girl shows will enjoy Flowering Heart, but it immediately reminded me of Smile Precure when I watched the first few episodes.

Similarities: - Focuses on the friendships between characters - Aimed at young girls - Optimistic tone - Colorful and cute art - Flashy outfit transformations every episode Uniquenesses: - Smile Precure has clear-cut villains, while Aikatsu has, at the most, friendly rivals - Aikatsu, being an idol show, focuses much more on music than Smile Precure
