After watching just about all of the OVAs released in the 1980s, I rated (or plan to rate) all of these OVAs a 7 or above and consider them to be the best of the bunch.

My favorite shit anime that I've come to semi-unironically love. It's all trash.

The criteria here is simple: Anime released in 2001 or earlier, with under 35,000 MAL Members, and which I've rated a 7 or higher.

It is perhaps worth noting that I rate things entirely on gut feeling. It's just, "I like that, that was good, it gets a 7.", that's the whole process. I can also find enjoyment in just about anything and there's very little that bothers me.

usually this makes them either really funny or really good. or both. or sometimes neither. always confused to some extent tho.

List of anime that are so bad that they're actually worth watching. A lot of these shows have bad plot and animation but are comedic enough to be enjoyed by the general population of MAL.

A compilation of anime which are adapted from manga that ran in LaLa magazine. Sequels are not included, but reboots are.

I have not included La Corda d'Oro or Library Wars due to the original sources being an otome game and a light novel respectively, despite having manga adaptations that ran in LaLa.

This is a list of the Most Unique Anime at least for the time it came out. Anime that tells a story in a completely new way or popularizes a gene or theme are more likely to be featured. This list has an extra preference for anime with strange plot and unsettling elements, including anything considered edgie. Plot and Message are valued highly, especially is expressed in a completely new way. Anime that is commentary on a gene or trope are also preferred on list. Commonly features stories that are dark or cruel in nature, but there are plenty of anime on the list that are not.

List is ordered with a balance between uniqueness and user score.

Looking for some of the funniest trashy and bad anime? Are you constantly digging up bad anime just to end up being bored by how bad it is, rather than laugh at how ironically fun it is? You've come to the right place!

I've only put in anime that made me ironically laugh while I watched it. There's anime such as Ex-Arm that were funny at first, but they also became a pain to watch as the series progresses. I still included it as the first few episodes are unintentionally hilarious. The list is organized from highest to lowest MAL average just to show how it gradually gets worse in quality.

Also, please DM me suggestions to add to this list too, if you have some! Tsui no Sora is excluded for being an h-anime, but it meets the criteria elsewise.
