The female equivalent to manly anime. Basically, series that represent these same characteristics, but with a female protagonist or a primarily female cast.

Yes that series has a game/ is a game. As I collect anime games I want to help people find games for series they enjoy. No this is not related to mobile games, maybe I’ll do a stack for those in the future though🤔 These are tied to Console and PC systems, I won’t list specifics though but searching “[insert series] game” will help you find it. One popular trope in romance anime is two characters who’ve either known each other since childhood or having met in childhood falling in love when they grow older. The “childhood friend” is also a common rival in love triangles and harems.

In Japan, this is known as “osanajimi”.

I divide it into three types:

childhood friends-to-lovers : two characters who have been friends for most of their lives grow closer
childhood promise: two characters were friends in childhood and made a promise. Usually, they separated after that. Now that they are reunited, it is now time to fulfill the promise
romantic rival: a now grown-up childhood friend is rival in a love polygon or a harem. Often, because she has a past with the main character, she feels she is the best pick and doesn’t want to “lose” her to others she deems less worthy

This is for gender non-conforming female characters.

There may be several readings of some of these characters. I read most of them as girls or women who are butch, tomboys, or “girl princes”.

Keep in mind that these characters are judged by Japanese standards. What is considered “gender non-conforming” in Japan vs. wherever we are can be quite different.

For characters who are canonically transgender or who I strongly feel could be read that way, I am planning a stack for yuri with other LGBT+ represented.

TV shows that were originally adapted from OVAs. Violent and sexual content is often toned down in the TV versions.

A collection of Vibrant, High-Energy, and Dynamic anime. Anime that exude energy, excitement, and maintain a captivating sense of movement and enthusiasm.

Animaze was a company that was formed in 1992 by Kevin Seymour and was in-work up until about 2008 following a closure in 2010 after Seymour had passed away. Animaze, outside of anime, has also dubbed many video games! Regardless, as follows are the anime that Animaze have dubbed! Hokuto no Ken and Super Dimension Century Orguss are excluded because they did not dub the full show!

For some odd reason Animaze decided to dub Orguss 02 instead of finishing the orginal show.

I tried to put together a list of sports (or sports-style) anime featuring women's and girls' sports that don't lean overly much into fanservice/ecchi stuff. Pickings were . . . Slim.

It would be nice if manga like Crimson Hero, Aozora Yell, Girl Got Game/Power!!, and other girls' sports manga got anime.
